biggest tires for stock 06?

Thought I'd resurrect a thread rather than start a new one...
Ok anybody know if 255/85/16's will fit a stock 07 4x4? Equals 33.1 inches diameter. I could do a 3" body lift I guess but i'd really rather not. I just want a tad more ground clearance and a more aggressive look.

 

I'm 99.8% sure they wont fit unless you lift.. Too much height bro..

you could just get spacers for the coils with the toytec or revtek lifts.

 

No, body lift will not resolved that problem. Just get a leveling lift for around $600 and you should be able to use them.

 

Why would a body lift not solve theproblem?

 

Body lift basically lift the whole truck. You will have problems w/the A arms rubbing.

 

I thought a body lift just lifted the body farther from the axles? i really have no experience with lifts, the only suspension work i have ever done was slamming a beamer so doing the opposite is like rocket science to me

 

its not like a suspension lift were it spread the axles and truck apart.

plus.. I wouldnt put a body lift on my worst enemies vehicle. It puts everything out of wack. It leaves spaces between the bumper and the body.. Makes you move your wiring harnesses, filler neck, etc. Just so much to move its not worth it!!

 

This is probably a stupid question but the toytec pro basic 3" lift.... is that body or suspension?

Stock tire size for 2nd gens are 265/65/17 at least with the 17" wheels, I bumped up to 265/70/17(31.6"x10.4") and had spacers to get clearance, I just took the spacers out because they caused balance problems, I don't think I needed them anyway. I am going to get a toytec 3" aal lift kit some day, then I think with aftermaret wheels I can put 295/70/17's on. (33.3x11.6)

 

I have 265/70 r17 bf all terrains on my 07' tacoma with a 3" susp lift and factory rims...I have noticed the tire is only about 1/2" from the A arm. Does anybody think there could be a problem with say offroading?

 

Yes, you will have limited turning capitability.

 

So basically if you have a 3" spacer lift the biggest tire you guys suggest is 265/70/17? (which is 31.9")Just asking because I ordered 4 of that size yesterday, but was thinking about 33's. It is not too late for me to change my order if I can go bigger.

 

You can change rims. Donnot reccomend spacers or washer on wheel studs. I also have the trd sport rims aswell.. may be different than the off-road tacoma rims.
