So probably going to run water/meth in addition to the tiny intercooler. Pretty small basic setup. Gotta get everything else done but just thinking ahead. Also wanting to run an he 351, fixed geometry though its possible to do a manual vgt controller but too much Shit...

Again I just need to get rolling with what I have but thinking ahead a little...

What happens when you're in the desert and run out of water?

Theres a switch in the cab that can turn it On and then theres a switch controlled by boost to actually run it, so it only runs at x amount of boost when you want it to. Otherwise it just hangs out, don't need it unless I want to run hot and hard.

So basically without water its just like it is now.

In the winter I can run washer fluid. In the summer distilled water. Cool!

Ahh I see. Makes sense if the switches rely on each-other.

Well I'm just saying you can turn it off or on and then from there its boost dependent and does its own thing but you don't need it. For really getting on it it'll bring down the egts a ton so its really more for on road use than anything. Or maybe getting aftwr it hard in snow or mud?

I mean yeah, I get lowering the EGT's. Nice to have a fuck it switch and go balls deep.
I'm not a tuner tho. I just want it to work and work consistently.

Well that's the thing about diesel. I can hit 1600 in a hury in the 6.4 if I'm not careful. You just have to watch it. Start playing with fueling and theres no set and go unless you want to be very conservative. IMO.

Lol with this dual turbo setup theres people pulling 60 psi on custom tunes. I see in the mid 50s consistently. I need ARPs.

6.4s run like a raped ape.

But thats why the he351 on the 12v

Those 6.4s are no joke. With a tune and spray I saw one go like 650hp on the dyno and was running mid 12s. Then he bumped into neutral while sled pulling and spun to the moon. Oopsie, but even then I think he just broke a rocker arm.

Got a little done today. Hard mounted my intercooler. It even clears the hood. And then worked on plumbing it.

So with a pretty good guestimation on final ride height, as I'm still waiting on my springs, and just guessing on axle centerline height being half my tire height, I plugged in a few numbers. Had to bug booger to see if I'm totally retarded or what but here it is.

The anti-dive is VERY finicky and even the slightest change throws things way off so take it for what it's worth. I'll see if I can't measure for real when I get it sitting on it's own weight on tires. But probably close enough anyway as the center of gravity changes it drastically.

So I tried it on google docs, doesn't really show up quite right but I was able to plug in most of the numbers. Kind of had to give a pretty good guess on some but this is what popped out. I'll retry when it's actually sitting on all 4 but I'm pretty sure I know what my frame height will be and I just went with half of 40" for the axle height related stuff so should be pretty close I think. Figure I'm no more than 20% +- on the Anti Dive and the roll axis ought to pretty damn close. Unless I messed something up. It did get a bit confusing... and I'm not sure on the center of gravity z axis measurement, I put 44" that's around the top of the bellhousing but I do have a heavy ass cummins/getrag/np205 so who knows, and that really wreaks havoc on those anti dive numbers.

    Anti-Squat93.84%
Roll Axis Angle2.71degrees ( - roll understeer, + roll oversteer)
    Roll Center Height29.45in
    Instant Center X-Axis79.78in
    Instant Center Z-Axis28.90in

So I'm gonna go ahead and stand by what I've said, and did, which is build em long, flat, and triangulated. Upper 75% ish of lowers. I got as much axle separation as I could and about half that at the frame. Made the panhard pretty flat but had to match drag link angles, and had to fit everything around a cummins. I'm happy with the numbers. I'll report back if I ever get it driving. Should be soon though.

It was suggested to me to google datum line in regards to leaf springs. My head has now exploded. I will just drive the thing and see what happens.

You realize there's only like 7 people on TW that actually understand that, right?
