What do i need to register a truck from AZ to CA? Really need help. I know its gotta get weighed and smogged but is someone gonna go over it and check it? I can get it passed but if it gets checked deffinitely wont pass. Just need to know exactly what needs to be done and whats gonna get checked. Thanks in advance -matt

They put the tailpipe reader on your exhaust...so yes they will look at it.

What exactly are you worried about?

Oh they most definitely will look at the exhaust... probably on of the first things they'll look at.

OBD stands for On Board Diagnostics. Basically they plug into the cars computer and look at all the emissions related data, self tests, etc.

CA smog isn't exactly a loose system, you can get around some things, but I wouldn't buy a truck if it MIGHT smog here until it's passed smog. If you can't do that I'd think twice.

Hope I'm not too late but, my advice, DON'T  register it here in Cal. Keep some type of address in Arizona and register it there.

Have seller smog it first before you buy it. Or register in another state. Which btw is illegal unless you're military.
