Afternoon boys...how's things in your 'hoods?

 

Mountains have snow here and I got stuck in a blizzard this last weekend but its still been nice overall...trying to figure out if I can camp this weekend or not. This stupid tropical storm thing has been driving the weatherman nuts this week.

Folks are good. My uncle's funeral was yesterday. It was good to see the family again. We're kinda at that stage where we only gather for weddings and funerals and I don't see many wedding bells in the future. I did end up finding some of my old wedding pics and found a really nice one of my uncle. They ended up using that pic on the programs and had it printed up to put next to his urn.

Hey...I'm liking this weather... ...so you hush!

 

We're supposed to get snow Sunday too. Hopefully late sunday so as to not gay in the way of my yelly trip. Its closing weekend so im going no matter what.

 

Already been through one this year, I'm good. Just not sure how everyone else on the road will be. I was lucky last weekend and traffic was light.

And I didn't get "stuck" last weekend, just meant that I was out when it started snowing unexpectedly and had no choice but to brave the roads in a blizzard to get home. Toy did good though, my tires are getting a little worn so I was concerned and didn't intent to test out his winter capabilities by going on a 100 mile drive on a twisty 2 lane highway.

 

Here's a shot I took on the way home last weekend, had to stop to clear the slush from the side of my windshield. Could see maybe 150 ft at the most.

 

meh...i've lived in cold climates my whole life, I already have lots of winter/snow stories. don't care for any more

well...how about the time the semi truck in front of me shedding all of the snow off of the roof and onto the road. i think he had been parked overnight and was just getting going so it was really built up deep.

or when the guys at work thought they were being funny and piled snow up as high as my bumper behind my truck thinking i'd get stuck backing out of my parking space. all of their efforts were for nothing as Toy went right over all of that without a problem. they still tease me about my little truck.

or when i pulled a chevy that had been high centered in a snow drift out. this was in my ex's truck. the guy kinda scoffed when i offered to help...a girl in a little truck...psh...what help could that be. he shut up pretty quickly once he was freed after two tries.

or when i was a kid and my folks and i were in Yellowstone in the winter for a snowcoach tour. we stayed overnight and the next morning we couldnt find our car...it had snowed almost 2' overnight and the parking lot at the hotel was just a bunch of snowy lumps. other folks were trying to remember which lump was their's too and were digging away the snow around the license plates trying to ID the cars.

shouldn't you be spending the holidays with your family? never know how many you have left...

Well if you're not missing out on any family function I guess its OK. I'd just hate to see you miss family time
