3 inch rake?

    guys...just put on the full dakar leaf pack...with extra leaf...

    before leaf pack (with TSB leaf and toytect AAL): 25" from bottom of the hub to fender

    after: 28" to the fender


    up front I'm sitting at 25" to the fender. i have the Toytec 5100 coil overs (non adjustable) with eibach springs. they are set at what ever they come set at from Toytec...i think for a three inch lift...

    anyways my questions are two:

    Questions 1: 3 inch rake: YES or NO...and WHY?

    Question 2: I have 1/2" top plate spacers left over from my OME coil overs....can I (and should I) install those up front...

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    I currently have a 2.5in. rake. (All suspension no spacers) It is not for everyone. I personally like all the rear travel and the ability to ride pretty flat when loaded with gear or a trailer. However the downward pitch is a bit goofy for other people to get used to.

    The driveway I'm in is sloped downward so it looks flatter than it is, use the wheel wells for referance.

    Most trucks come with rake I think....I'm working on pics...anyone have any input?

    All vehicles come with a rake, cars and trucks. 3" is a little high for me aesthetically and maybe the headlights would suffer some because they wouldn't throw as far, but if it's too high for you, can you remove the overload spring?

    Josh....can I ask you a question on your remote resi rear struts.....did you mount BOTH drivers and passengers side with the remote reservior facing the front? And how did you attached to the frame?

    I like the height of the rear...that's why I'm thinking about adding the 1/2" front spacers...

    I'm talking about the rake, not the height. I'd throw the spacer in for sure if it were my truck.

    Some stuff...
    Drivers side remote resi faces forward and passenger faces rear. To mount them, I drilled holes in the frame for the ICON mounting brackets and bolted them in.

    Those springs will probably settle some over time also. once you break them it you'll have less of a rake.

    OP - The stance looks pretty good to me. I would give the springs some time to settle.

    Do you know which snap ring groove the bilsteins are set at? If they are on the bottom stock setting you are only getting just over 1.5" of lift up front with the eibach coils.

    Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16

    this was close to 3" of rake i guess, it has settle a 1/2 or so and i put 5100 @ 1.75 up front and now it sits like this

    but i will be getting some base coils and going up to 2.5 in the front in a couple months (the driveway is slightly up hill also so it looks close to level in the 2nd pick but is really close to factory rake)
