    Form 1 to build a suppressor...just FYI :)

Sureifre cans are rock solid and good to go. There's a reason they are used by our military. Generally (its gun dependent too) very little POI shift and its repeatable, still get accuracy, and they are built to withstand abuse.

The only down side is the cost. For the price of one you could almost buy two of another brand

And im not a fan boy..i went with the AAC SDN6 and TBAC 30-p1 for my needs. But every surefire can i've gotten to see and use has worked perfectly. Is it more than you need for just a range toy....maybe.

Thanks for the info. It's not just gonna be a range toy. We have a feral cat and skunk problem on the property.

My uncle has turned it back to native grass and trees, put up brush piles and critter habitat to get wildlife back after years of over grazing from the previous owner. Now there are about 100 California quail running around, the foxes are back, along with chipmunks, squirrels, and other native birds and I am bringing in a bunch of Bob White quail and pheasant in the spring to add to it since they are on the decline in Oregon.

People have litters of kittens and can't get rid of them so they bring them into the country and dump them off, so there is a steady stream of them. The 5.56 is a perfect cat problem solver, but, he has neighbors and we dont want to "disturb" them, because every now and again someones pet joins the mix and hunts 'em too...:anonymous:

Plus, its going on my LMT, which is built with all top of the line shit, so when it comes to the money for that gun, I dont mind.

I like the surefire because I have been told that if you get the 7.62, it will work with both a .308 and 5.56. So if and when I get a .308 I have killed to birds with one stone if you will. So basically I am getting two for the price of one.

Any of you guys heard of Sadu ammo? Made in Romania.

I am leary of stuff made in that part of the world and what it can do to your weapon. Since I havent ever heard anything about them, figured I would ask. You can get 1,000 rnds for $339.

    Here is the ammo description:

    Product Description

    5.56 – 62gr – SS109 - Sealed Brass Case – Boxer Primed – Factory New

*Order Ships Same Day when Placed Before 4pm EST (Mon-Fri)

    - Factory New high-performance, precision-manufactured, SS109 steel penetrator lead core ammunition loaded to NATO specs
    - Perfect for your 5.56-chambered AR-15
    - Brass-cased, boxer-primed (non-corrosive) and re-loadable.
    - Same ammo has been manufactured and sold to the U.S. and foreign Governments for use in combat operations in Iraq/ Afghanistan.
These 5.56 rounds are not cheap range fodder. Rather, they are battle rounds that are moisture sealed to military specifications for long term storage and packed in 20-round boxes. The ammunition is made in Romania, by Uzina Mecanică Sadu, which is an ISO 9001:2008 (Certificate 154 C) and AQAP 2110 certified manufacturing facility. They have been manufacturing high quality ammunition for 75 years.

Depends on what you want to use it for. For me, I like quality stuff to stash, and it's worth paying a premium. I would rather have 900 rounds that all go bang than 1000 rounds with three duds. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/569/category/48/

I am with you on the stash stuff. Which is why I only by Federal 62 gr for that, and actually I am now shifting to the 5.56 NATO Hornady 62 grain Bonded Soft Point Barrier TAP Ammo.

I was just wondering if anyone heard anything about it for corrosive issues.
It was advertised as .02 rnd, but after checking it out further though, its still $0.32 a round, and I can get federal for that which I trust. Thanks though.

The Surefire cans would work fine. but so would many other option. Specwar 762, Phantom Ti, TBAC 30CB7, ect. Surefire makes good cans...but so do many other companies. Not trying ot talk you out of them...but look around too. A SOCOM762 is ~1300 if i remember right. Where as a SDN-762 is ~800. That cost difference gets you 5 mounts (well depending which ones you go).

You could go all in and buy a 300blk too. Subsonic 300blk is good out to 200 yards for small game like squirrels/cats/foxes (IMO...youll get varying ideals on max range). Suppress it and its damn quiet. Even a 556 suppressed will have a supersonic crack that is fairly loud.

Or have fun and get a 10/22 and a 22lr suppressor (i have a Spectre II). Run subsonic ammo and its damn quiet too! But only good to around 50yards IMO.

As for the 30cal on a 556. Almost all 30cal cans will work on a 556. The only real limiting factor is what mount setup you go with (direct thread vs QD). QD generally allows you to mount the 30cal to pretty much anything. Direct threads...assuming common threads will get you on the common 308 or 223 pitches. You can sometimes buy adapters though.

Sorry... Been away from the thread for a bit and missed your post. It shoots fine with the scope but the only reason it is on there is because the rear sight is broken and can't be adjusted up or down. I've taken it apart but it is missing the clip that holds the adjuster in place. I need to replace that clip but until then I just picked up a cheap Bushnell scope at WalMart.

The Rifle was given to me by my grandfather when I was 9 and now I have given it to my 9 year old daughter. She's enjoying going to the range and shooting it and she learns weapon safety at the same time.

I've got the 535 and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm personally not big on tan but that's just a personal preference. Got a tactical stock and light. It does what I want it to do.

Yeah. It patterns out nicely at 35yrds for a smooth bore. Might buy a 21' barrel also. Dunno.
