    Evening all:
Cheech; you safe from the lava flow? Hope so.

Good to hear the dead kitty is out of there. At least they could have asked you if they could bury it somewhere on the property.

Good advice on the chainsaw sharpener, I still file them without a good guide like that.

Hey Mike: Looks like your son just found another use for a trappers basket!

Jim-just put a set of high handlebars on the mountain bike, don't know if the cables would be long enough though. You don't need brakes anyway!!!! :D

I'm safe from the lava, on a different isle. In laws and a lot of friends may be in the path though.

I just saw on the news that one guy has built a 12' high berm to try & protect his property. Yup that was my buddy with his D10.

Charlie, when you come over in June I'll buy you a beer. Or two, or three...I know you'll get through this, and make it over here for a well deserved vacation.

    Aloha.

I once saw a movie documenting the lava flow on Santorini Greece from 1939. Villagers built a 12 foot thick stone wall to channel the lava. The lava went through the wall like a hot knife through butter. You cannot contain lava.

My Mountain bike is almost 30 years old so its time for a complete rebuild .The next owner can do that:)

I have sidewalks all the way to park in my hood. The city has been pushing bike riding so they are on build the sidewalks everywhere kick! I can ride 3 miles to the big mall & never get off a sidewalk:cool::D

    Morning All!

Before moving to the country, I rode a bike pretty much everywhere in town. I rode to work for 8 years.

Here it is a different story. Everything is straight up and down. It is 28 miles to town on a two lane highway. One side of the road is mostly straight up, and the other side is a river. One needs a death wish to ride on it.

When one gets to town, there is no mall to speak of. I do miss my bike.

Glad to hear the cat has found its way home.

Charlie, looks like a good plan. Only thing on your itinerary that you might want to skip is the Diamond Head part, although if you take the short hike up to the peak the view is awesome. If you need a ride back to your hotel from Pearl, hit me up.

Take care of that back man, our thoughts are with you.

Sorry about that Cap'n. Hang in there. This crap is just gonna stink and that's the way it is. But you're tough and can do this.

If you didn't do all that stuff, you wouldn't be the same guy with the same knowledge, nor have the same stories and life experience to pass along that draws folks to you. I'm speaking a bit personally here, but I expect I'm not the only one. Besides, reality says the damn drunk driver  hitting you set the stage for most of this would be my guess. The other stuff didn't help, but the accident left you with a weak point. :(

In short, I care about you and have faith in you. You can take it and get through this.

    Sincerely, Rob

PS: hope I'm not out of line here, I certainly mean no disrespect ... The exact opposite in fact. You have my fullest respect.

Yup, they got Frein. Wonder if they are going to let the guys that hunt that area back into it. It could be bad if they missed a booby trap.

    Morning all!

Keep up the fight, Charlie!!! You'll just have to put off running that marathon for a few months!! :p

Glad to see they got Frein - poetic justice that they cuffed him with the cuffs of the Trooper he killed and used his car to transport him. Time for the justice system to kick in.
