That seems expensive for 30+ yr old aluminum boat. How much are those new these days?

 

my dad has a 18' starcraft with a outboard 140 chrystler. personal opinion it's underpowered. if/when I buy a boat it's going to be inboard motor with atleast 200Horse. hopping to pick up a used boat with a blown motor and mod it to fit my spare 3.4 then pick up a super charger for it . but that's a dream.

Meh, evinrude's are good motors but I'm a Mercury guy. Not a fan of Starcraft or aluminum boats in general. Look on boattrader.com
I don't know what type of boat you would prefer but you could find a lot newer better performing boat for around the same price.

If you find a Chaparral around you, that would be a nice boat. 235ssi is a cuddy and the 230ssi is an open bow.
Also the sunesta are like a deck boat.
Then check sea-ray for something like a 220 select or a sundeck

 

Buy a Bombardier jet boat, you could probably get a new one in the states for that price. They have like 300 hp, and you dont have to worry about props.

Not hip to their durability, whenever I see one I just think of a guy who couldn't afford or comprehend a real boat. Not to be judgemental. They aren't really BOATS IMO, though I'm sure they're a blast to ride in.

 

If your in the mindset of a pontoon boat just keep looking for one. Can't get much better for what you've been describing other than the tubing. If you find one with a big enough motor you'd be fine for that too. I'm a big fan of the pontoon too!

 

Launching daily with anything is a pain in the ass, unless you're running a 16' aluminum boat you can tow with an ATV.

Ahh, that makes a big difference. If your not in a hurry, maybe in the off season you can find out if anyone has dock space you could rent out that's local to you. The place we rented on Winnipesaukee a few years ago used to do just that. They had a three slip dock and rented out 2/3. I see your dilemma though.

$230. 285/75/16 same size as our previous BFG ATs, but they are extremely bald. I didn't realize the pic was so dark lol

Nope sorry, going on the tundra lol, new KO2s. No way the tundra would get through winter with its current tires. I'm excited to see how they look and perform.
