Boys, I have a problem here.

My wife is all pumped about this damned concert festival thing that is coming up because 2 of her favorite bands are playing. It just so happens that one is at 6 and the other is 8:30.

BAMA/LSU kicks off at 7. FML

She'll be about 11 weeks preggers at that point. Can I tell her it's bad for the baby? I can't send her in alone can I? Should I break my leg or something that weds?

I don't see why ESPN needs the SEC in the playoffs. They have exclusive rights to the playoffs either way. They're not gonna show the games on SECNetwork. And the nation will watch. Whether it's B1G or pac 12 or whatever, we'll all watch.

Is ESPN up Texas's ass? Did we all forget about the Longhorn Network? Fans in the state of Texas are arguably just as rabid, if not more so, about their football than we are in the southeast. Espn could be trying to prop up Texas and make money off of them. But you don't hear anything about them on ESPN. Know why? Because they suck more than a porn star this year. Who got all the coverage before the SEC started its title dominance? Ohio st and USC. Because they were winning. No one claimed any networks were biased then. SEC fans didn't get all butthurt. Personally, I hated those schools, but I hated them before they were all over tv and playing for national titles.

The SEC got powerful and started winning games. Big games. Important games. ESPN started showing up to SEC campuses and promoting those games because they're the best games on tv at the time. CBS usually shows 2-3 SEC games every week because of their contract with the conference. Why would Disney/ESPN be trying to prop up a conference that has other contract obligations to other networks?

As soon as another conference becomes overall as dominant as the SEC has been for the last decade, ESPN will start covering them more. Why? Because the country wants to see/hear about the top teams in the nation, whether they're a fan of the team or hate them.

So, my suggestion, stop bein so damned butthurt and enjoy watching quality football week in and week out. Or find whatever shitty station is showing UNC/Ga Tech and watch that shit show.

 

Not to mention the fact that the voters mostly have ties to other schools outside of the SEC...and they still put the SEC on top.

 

By the way, 3 of the next 6 FSU games are on ESPN or ABC, including the ACC championship. Seems like they'd have a big stake in ACC games if they were as biased as everyone is saying b

 

I prefer Brent Musburger's thoughts on the SEC bias: "They're the best, deal with it."

 

they are on ESPN or ABC because they are the undefeated champions... in season games are negotiated and announced as the season progresses.

But I agree... I don't see why ESPN would be biased towards the SEC.

If anything the fact the Rose Bowl, which they paid 80 BILLION dollars for, is now a playoff game and not the guaranteed Pac-12 game should make ESPN a bit more neutral.

 

So am I understanding right that if you win the playoff semi final at the rose bowl or sugar bowl, you win that bowl games trophy?

 

I think so. I guess it's still technically a bowl game.

 

My high school was Northeastern High School....I think they were number 3. Tipped, one handed interception.

Exactly. They are showing the top teams. I don't see why everyone is so freakin butt hurt over it. Watch football and shut the hell up.

The New Pornographers, who I like and is why I agreed to go. They're at 6 and done at 7 so we would have been fine...

BUT

Someone else pulled out and Modest Mouse is playing at 8:30. She loves them and I can't stand them but now I guess I'll be stuck there.

Unless she gets sick of the crowd..

 

Basketball? People still like that sport? Let me know when the NBA finals roll around. I'll watch a game or two then. I've never watched a full game of college basketball though. Including March Madness. March is probably my least favorite month of the year because of March madness actually.
