Has anyone made it to where you can flip on your reverse lights while driving down the road with just a switch? or turn them off when backing up in "stealth mode"? I have looked into it and haven't really found anything so any help or info would be great.

It is illegal to have rearward facing white lights (other than tag lights) illuminated while driving. The only legal color for constant illuminated rearward facing lights is red. Forward facing lights can be white or orange.

If I'm parked and I want light shining behind my truck it would be nice to be able to see.
Driving down a dark road at night, The more light the better I drive down a lot of dirt roads. and I think it would be a fun project.

Have you considered a flashlight? You say driving down the road the more light the better? What good is it going to do you to have what you've already covered lit up?

Yes I have a flashlight... and I would just like to have more light. There is no major purpose except being able to see behind me as far as I want even when I'm driving.

Yeah, your reverse lights aren't going to light it up that much for you.

Its not like I'm going to go out on main roads and ride around with them on. Its for trail riding and mudding at night or driving down dirt roads.

I'd suggest googling electrical theory then because I don't think you'll find much help here. BTW, it's not that hard to do it, just doesn't make a lot of sense to do it.

For all of you who keep mentioning being interested in this for work lights etc...just pony up and buy a couple of small aux lights and put them on a switch...

Brighter lights, not illegal, and you still have to put a switch in

You're trying to save some money but ultimately you're putting in way more effort for less desirable results.
