Just out of Bordem I wanted to see what everyone's favorite/ideal work hours are. I've worked overnight, morning, evening. All I could imagine. Although graveyards mess with sleeping/eating schedule as well as social life I honestly love graveyards the most. What do you all prefer? I'm currently on
    Mon-Fri 5am-3pm

I like working for myself. I set my own hours. I'm not real busy right now so today I probably won't even work. I will have to work this weekend, so today can be my day off.

I pretty much work whenever work needs to be done. 3 a.m., 3 p.m., doesn't matter to me. Some weeks I don't do very much at all, some weeks are 90 hours. I've been doing this for years. I can't keep regular office hours. It would drive me nuts.

When I was independent, I loved it... worked when I wanted to and only needed to work around 2 weeks out of every 6...

    Now I'm a working fool again... 9-80 schedule... :(

Having been self employed for years I enjoyed the ability to set my own hours even though I don't think I ever actually worked more hours at any point in my life.

Assuming I had/have to work a ~40 hour week, I'd pick something like 3/13s Tue, Wed & Thur something like 9a to 10p.

Currently I'm doing 4/10s, day shift (new for me) with the boot on my throat.

I finally achieved the optimum working hours about 13 years ago when I retired. :)

Six twelves followed by one eight. Do that for ten weeks, then take ten weeks of vacation. The twelves are kind of messed up, eight hours on, four hours off, four hours on, eight hours off. The vacation time makes up for it.

Generally I get to work around 7, leave around 3:30. I go get lunch every day, but it's usually 15 minutes to run and grab something and work while I eat.

Except today I got here at 5:30 and am still here.

Salaried = give and take. Great flexibility, but at the expense of some long days here and there.

I like starting earlier in the day and leaving before 4.

3 12hour shifts friday-sunday then have the whole week off. its nice but never having weekends is getting old. my old job i would work 10 days a month 24hrs. the rest spent with a cigar and drink in hand.

    miss that everyday

Currently working 4-10's. 1500-0100 with Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off. I like it.
I stay busy but also have some down time later in the shift. I would prefer to work just graveyard as I make more and work less. Lol.

I've worked 24 hours every third day for the last 18 years. It's awesome working every third day (24/48) and you have a weekend off when you get off. Take a day off, well you got 5 days off really. Sucks when you're up all night but sleeping all night and getting paid is nice too.
