    comming soon!
Had mine installed at NTB yesterday morning for $215 a tire (255/85/16), so far I'm very impressed. They are quiet, round and ride very nice @ 38 psi. Coming from Duratrac's there is NO COMPARISSON as the Goodyear tires were noisy and could never get a full set of ROUND tires, yes they would balance fine but you can also balance an egg. The wear on the Duratracs (48k) and their offroad performance were the ONLY redeeming qualities IMO. :(
Drove through muddy ruts on the farm this morning with the Coopers and they performed great, cleaned themselves very well and pulled with confidence. When they packed up, a light blip of throttle cleaned them out right away. So far, so good... Did I mention they are really quiet and smooth :D

Great review! Thanx! I think your the first I've heard of with the 255/85/16, were they hard to find? Special order? I know a few guys were asking about the 255 Maxx on a 16" wheel.

And let's see some pics! :worthless:

LOL, no muddy truck pics, sorry.... They had to be ordered from the local distributor but showed up in 1 day. I am running Eibach 620 springs up front (w/ driver side leveling spacer) and TSB springs out back. I did not observe or hear any rubbing even though I twisted it up a couple of times crossing out of the ruts and into open field, the ruts were pretty gooey but not real deep. I'm not an aggressive driver offroad so YMMV.

I am thinking that I'll go with the 255/85/16's when my 265/75/16's wear out. If I don't go with a different brand.

I was also considering the 255/85/16 tire size for purchase next summer. Wish it could be had in load range C, to save weight.

Where are you guys finding the weight of the tire? All I could find on cooper's site was this link:

    http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Light-Truck/DISCOVERER-S-T-MAXX.aspx#tire-specs

^tire size chart is java script, so I can't directly link it, but I can't find the weight per tire...

All I can say is they are heavier than the Rugged Fails, and seem lighter and have less rolling resistance than the 285/75/16 Toyo MT's I had on my '09. Those are the only other tires I have run on my Tacomas.

Call Cooper, the weights I found online were lighter than the actual weight. My 255/80/17 were 51lbs online and Cooper told me me 59.

Also I'm running mine at 35psi all four for now. They are riding smooth but need to watch for wear.

Big difference in 255 85 16s in the ST Maxx compared to the regular 255 85 16s ST I replaced. The Maxx are much heavier. I expected a little weight increase going from a D to E rated tire, but there is a noticeable difference in acceleration, braking and MPG. Off road has been great thus far but I've only had them out on one trip. Hardly enough to fully evaluate them.

    Thanks. Will do.

Good to know. Weight is an issue for a daily driver. I might opt for the ST then. I have 265/75/16 Duratrac load range C, and with the factory TRD wheel they weigh 65 lbs.

ST is no longer made in 255 85 16. Might find some left over stock though.

Where are you guys seeing the ST Maxx in 255/85/16? After reading this thread I changed my mind. Thats the size I want when I where my current set out.

I was going to go with the BFG KM-2's but this thread changed that for me.

Well, mounted some 285 AT3s on my Stealth 6s and didn't like the look and I could see they'd require more frame cutting than I wanted to do. Sooo I ordered a set of ST Maxx in 255/80 :) may still have to trim some, but considering I got them for $620 I'm ok with that
