Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
And I am sorry you used to be a Bone maintainer. Those things are nightmares (especially for my specialty). I'm on the -46 myself.

Hey all - can i get a consensus on the correct prep work prior to putting on the vinyl decals? Most "formal" instructions/write ups that you find on the web say that wax should be removed prior to the install. But, anecdotally, I'm seeing actual installers in forums (such as this one) say that it's ok to wax before applying vinyl decals.

I'm planning on finally installing mine this weekend and was going to do the following:
1 - Finish debadging. I still need to get the TRD stickers off. Going to use 3M Adhesive Remover to get rid of any remnants from the stickers and badges. Going to also go over it with a claybar.
2 - 3M Imperial Hand Glaze across the entire truck
3 - Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Wax across the entire truck
    4 - Install Vinyl Decals
5 - Apply Omni-Seal over everything (I've read that this is safe on matte vinyl).

From there, I think I should be good for the winter. I'd probably maintain the vinyl stripes with 303 Aerospace Protectant throughout the winter.

Or, should I play it "safe" and apply the decals before doing any of the Glaze/Wax/Sealant steps?

    my take =

the best adhesion to the paint requires nothing between the vinyl and the paint.

it may not stick for as long if there is anything on the surface.
"claying" before should remove any wax as well as contaminates.

waxing after will just create a build up along the edges.

i use 303 on the hood decals about every 6 to 8 weeks (should probably be more). i got over 6 years with the first set of hood stripes.

Thanks! I know that once the matte decals are on, waxing needs to be done with care, so as to not get it on the stripes. I was wondering (hoping) that I wouldn't have to worry about that until the next time I wax, if I could put the wax down before I put down the stripes. But, I wouldn't want to do that if it would impact the quality of the actual install.

So, I'll play it safe and do it in this order:
1 - Finish debadging. I still need to get the TRD stickers off. Going to use 3M Adhesive Remover to get rid of any remnants from the stickers and badges. Going to also go over it with a claybar.
    2 - Install Vinyl Decals
3 - 3M Imperial Hand Glaze across the entire truck
4 - Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Wax across the entire truck
5 - Apply Omni-Seal over everything (I've read that this is safe on matte vinyl).

I did nothing special to prep for the install, just a simple wash and dry. Was gonna clay bar and wax first, but the paint felt nice and smooth, no need for clay, and I was antsy to get them on, so no wax.. The decals adhered easily and the install came out flawless :)
