High idle until stopped

Did you clear the codes? They will remain pending even with new sensors

I find it weird you don't have a CEL with a shorted MAF sensor circuit. Something else is obviously wrong somewhere. Does the truck run weird at all?

 

Are those two sensors sharing a common wire.Maybe a pinched wire or a wire on a weird bend shorting on something.Time to turn to the schematics.Grab your multimeter and a cup of coffee.Look for kinks,bends,tight zipties,wires pulled out of the rear of connectors,bolts or studs rubbing into the loom.Good luck.

 

No, truck runs great other than this.
the corporate Toyota wants to do nothing unless a check engine comes like. And I'm afraid I'm stuck tell then. I thought for sure I'd be the coolant sensor because the truck seems to run a little better after I changed it out but it just continue to be the same after a day or two later.

 

I dont know what to tell you bud. The next step is escalation to an attorney but that's doing a whole lot over a high idle. However, that is emissions related because you could actually fail since you have two pending codes in the PCM, as well as the irregularly high idle. Threaten to put some media attention on them at corporate if they won't set you straight. Toyota hates that because of the whole bogus gas pedal bullshit years ago.

 

Start unplugging sensors till a light comes on haha. My 99 throws a light if I just unplug 1 sensor haha

 

I did this, and they got really mad at me. They had to recalibrate
Alot of stuff.

 

Shouldn't have to recalibrate anything haha. I think you need to see a different dealer or open a complaint with corporate
