Figured this would be one of the best places to ask, does anybody have any tips for installing a fuse block and usb ports?

 

Of course i would be in florida and u in PA, and of course i am about to paint my Sliver ARE topper for my long bed to black, lol.

 

Go for it man. Do you have a some things going directly to your battery now that you want to clean up?

And put a circuit breaker between the fuse block and the battery on the positive side? Have you picked out a spot to mount the fuse block?

 

Not yet. On my other truck I did but I cant salvage much of it

Yeah just about everything ive seen they put a breaker on the positive from the battery before the fuse block. I have not, probably just behind the battery on a tray of some sort

 

Your fuse block is rated at a maximum amp load. It's a good idea to CB/fuse it at that maximum.

I'm running a BlueSea block and have a 100 amp Circuit breaker because that is the maximum rating for the block.

 

That and any power wire coming off the battery should have a fuse/breaker within 8-16" of the battery.

In this case..not true. It's to stop the fuse block from melting if the accessories on it pull too much. That said you should know if that's possible and not let it happen. But all the circuits off the fuse block should be fused as you stated, by how much they draw.

 

I disagree, in reality you should be using a breaker/ fuse based on the wire size you run. The breaker is meant to protect the wire from burning up. But you should rate it to what you could draw in this case whatever the max load of the blue seas circuit breaker. If that's 100 amp then you use 100 amp wire and breaker.

Found out last week on of my jobs vendors is Earth Roamer. All of their trucks use our induction cooktop.

 

I transfer next summer but just put in dream sheet last week, will prob end up in kodiak but you know how it is when it comes to pics.
