October 2014 - Decided I wanted drier and more secure storage in the back. Removed the toolbox and mounting bars. Replaced them with a Leer camper, found a great deal on Craigslist. I also added additional D-rings (ebay) in the bed for securing fuel/water cans. Got the idea from the forum. Locking tailgate and rack system are next on the to do list.

Nice build! I'm going a similar direction with mine! And the ARB bumper is the plate bumper I'm leaning towards, do you like it? how was the install on it?

Love my ARB. Strong, sturdy and I really like the look it gives the truck. Should be a straight forward install, especially since you have an 09 model. 2012+ models require cutting of the factory bumper to install. Previous models bolt on without any modification. Just make sure to upgrade to a stronger suspension. I went with OME 886 shocks, coils and Dakar leaf packs for the rear. Been great so far.

I've got 885's in the front right now! I was planning on upgrading to a plate bumper but I didn't want to ride nose high or super rough until I did. I was hoping the 885's would be good enough, I guess I'll see when I get one!

    Thanks!

Some simple updates. Swapped out the base wiper switch with an intermittent one. Used part number 84652-02610. Overall a quick and beneficial mod. Also put in a PL5400 Pop and Lock tailgate handle. Plastic feels a little weaker than OEM, but overall not a bad fit and nice to be able to secure items in the camper. I have read some have had issues with the Bolt lock, hopeful mine will be good.

Love the truck! I really need to get on the CB bandwagon. I thought I would be extra cool and go HAM but I just don't have the interest! Hah. Again, truck looks great!

Nothing but good experiences with Southeast Overland. So far I have ordered a winch line, Tepui RTT and TJM air compressor through them. Winch lines are made in house, excellent quality and craftsmanship. Overall a great business, highly recommended, also enjoy supporting small local business.

Took a trip up to the mountains this past weekend.

Drove up Old NC 105, some parts still had some fall color.

Found a campsite with a good view.

    Setup Camp.

    Steaks and Beers. Mmmmmm :)

Next day headed out to Max Patch NC, via Hurricane Creek Trail.

    First Water Crossing.

    View along the trail.

The trail was very damp and filled with puddles from recent snow melt.

After about 2 hours driving up the trail, made it to the top and arrived at Max Patch. Ended up driving the second half of the trail with a local jeep club. Funny to see a tacoma out front with a bunch of jeeps following, but the company was welcomed due to their knowledge of the trail. We also spent about 30 minutes moving vehicles around in a tight area of the trail after encountering a group of FJs heading the opposite direction. Overall a great time. 2.7 handled the trail like a champ. The views of mountains in every direction were an awesome end to the trip.

    At the top.

Been a little while since my last post. Added a Thule tracker II rack system to the shell. Now I got to figure out what to put over the cab.

Yes! Wiper Mod has been great.

Snorkel and oem backup camera are next on the to do list. Still debating between airflow or the new tacoma specific safari snorkel. Open to suggestions.
