I would take your truck and from the looks of that picture they're going to replace them

Mentioned it in passing to my service rep today, and he said my '08 had showed up on the preliminary notification.

Anyway, I commented that I wondered what the "fix" would be, and he said, "It looks like they're going to replace the leaf springs."

    We'll see.

In all honesty I don't think Toyota would be able to get away with just adding a clip, it still wouldn't fix the root of the problem that the leaf spring is broken causing the suspension in the rear to be compromised and un safe.

I just talked to my dealer and he doesn't even know what they are going to do. I also asked about add a leafs and he also didn't know what was going to be done about people with the extra leafs. He did say there may be a problem legally taking apart the leaf pack to put in your add a leaf but he did say he would gladly give me back the parts

I dunno. With springs sagging and popping daily around the country, the right thing to do would be new leafs. Anything else, they can keep their recall. I'll put some real springs on it myself.

Pipe front bumper. My trucks have work to do.
Can't wait for my November 28 recall letter to arrive, or some insight from OP as to the distribution of the parts for the remedy.

My dealer told me not to get my hopes up for a late November letter. He said things are running behind with Toyota and the NTSB

I'm not worried about it. I plan on replacing rear leafs with Dakars.

Called my local Toyota dealer here in Nova Scotia for a service appointment and asked if they knew anything about this Spring Recall. She said, Well it's not a Recall, to which I said Everyone else is calling it a recall. She couldn't tell me much or anything about it. My truck is a US truck and is included.

My local dealer was kinda a douche when I asked about it. Saying it wasn't officially a recall yet and they couldn't tell me anything else. Hate dealing with dealerships.

Mine called today asking to bring my truck in for the spiral cable. While I had him on the phone I asked about the leaf springs and he said it's still in the works and they don't know when the roll out might be.

I entered my VIN on the Toyota Canada page and they said no recalls issued for my 09 Tacoma... Strange because I had issues with my leaf springs twice. Once I had to pay out of pocket.
