Bike racks

Does anyone know of a good bike rack for the 2nd gen tacos? I'm starting to get into mountain biking and want to start hitting some trails that are a good distance away and I don't want my bike or my buddies sliding around in the bed. By the way I am talking about mountain bikes

 

I really need to take a new photo of my truck. I have the Toyota cross bars on the bed of my truck and Thule tray racks attached to them. I use the cross bars for skis as well. Love the setup since I can still pack stuff under the bikes when I go camping.

Wish I knew about these options earlier. I got the mounts from Toyota that hook right up to the Bed cleets, works good but priced around $40ish each.

Another option is to get a 4' piece of 2x6" board, and screw in a couple of those clamps. You can put the bikes in the bed in either direction, or even do two boards and carry four bikes.

Then toss the boards in the garage when you're not mountain biking.

Even works with a canopy.

 

I think this is the one you're talking about http://www.recrac.com/tacoma.html. It's pretty expensive though. $100 for the first bike and $20 for each additional bike, so it would run $160 for 4 bikes. Also, I'm not sure how well it would work with non-conventional frames, like my DH bike.

 

Hope this isnt too late but Ive got the factory roof rack on my 06 tacoma double cab . Attached to the roof rack is an inno bike carrier for my mtn bike. It works great. I purchased it at a place called Rack-it in San Diego. Im sure they have an online store. Look them up and call them. They are friendly over the phone too. Yes I do have the option of placing the tire up there to, but I either leave it in the truck or put in the back bed. Either way, it looks good on the truck. By the way, what kind of mtn bike?

 

I use the receiver hitch too.

 

yakima...mine holds 4 bikes and it goes into the hitch
