Nice lookin truck. Just curious how your suspension is working out for you..? I have the same truck but a PreRunner instead. I am wondering if you think the 887s would be overkill for not having the additional weight (sliders, front dif)...

    Thanks for the help

^^^^ Same question here. I was considering the 5100's with the 885, but I believe I read that I would need top plate spacers for the full 3". I see that you put 887's for the full 3". I'm not considering adding front weight soon, so I'm wondering if the 887's would be overkill. I also like the way the 265/75/16's look. I was already decided on the 33's, but you're giving me second thoughts. BTW great build, I'm getting a lot of great ideas.

Truthfully, I think this would be a good question to ask YotaDan . He helped me with my suspension set up. When I got the 887s on with just the sliders, I had about a 4.25" lift, took it awhile to settle out to 3" (lots of off roading), so it may jack you up even higher without any armor weight on.

Thanks for looking and for the compliments. It's this damn website...so many good ideas = lots of money spent....but I have a truck I'm proud of!

Thanks for the advice. I'll look up YotaDan and rack his mind a bit.

Sorry I didn't see your comment til now. Yes the truck aligned well considered it's a full 3" on stock UCAs. No issues with drifting either with current specs.

Added a brand new custom pair of Icon 2.0 non resi rears to fit a Dakar leaf pack which I have yet to put on. Andy at Gotexhaust.com was super helpful and awesome to work with and gave me a great price on them. Very happy with the ride! Install was rather easy, although I would recommend taking off the wheels! Only took me about 2.5 hours (1.5 for one side because I didn't know what I was doing and about an hour for the other side once I figured it out)

Also replaced my cabin air filter with a K&N drop in I bought on Amazon. The old one was a tad bit on the dirty side!

Went out to Lone Pine last week and camped in Alabama Hills, attempted to go to the Ancient Bristlecone Forest but it was closed for the winter, then drove Wacoba Saline Valley Rd into Death Valley, then up Lippincott Mine Rd over to the Racetrack (super cool- a must see), then camped at Mesquite Campground. Then drove to the entrance of Titus Canyon (not worth the extra hour or whatever to get to the east entrance of the canyon since it's one way, just walked it instead), down to Furnace Creek and then east into Nevada as my end destination was Vegas for a ice hockey tournament.

Waking up under Mt Whitney was pretty epic, considering I drove into town late at night and had no idea really where I was setting up camp. Not gonna lie, the shadows of the bubbly rocks at Alabama Hills are kinda haunting and creepy in the half-moonlight! Thank God for the softopper, it offered good protection from the heavy wind gusts. I stayed warm and happy under the canopy.

Driving down Wacoba Saline Valley Rd- very scenic as it really shows you how desolate Death Valley is.

Fired up the grill and made carne asada tacos on the tailgate off the side of the road.

Stopped to check out Saline Valley dunes. Pretty amazing as they pop up out of nowhere and you can drive right up to them.

Then up Lippincott Mine Rd (not listed on park map) that was marked by a huge cairn of rocks. It was a fun moderately difficult steep shelf road up Lippincott pass offering amazing views of the valley floor, and then just past that was The Racetrack.

The Racetrack. What an amazing natural phenomenon. I was blown away by the size of the playa that the rocks move on. It was huge! And the way the cracks in the playa looked, it was like looking at a tile floor- the cracks were almost identical to each other in perfect hexagonal shapes! I would say it is one of the absolute-must-see places in Death Valley.

    My co-pilot Riley
    [IMG]

Teakettle Junction- pretty neat stop. I kind of wished I had more daylight to do Hunter Mountain because driving the rest of the Racetrack rd made me feel like my teeth were going to rattle out of my head. It was a very long rutted road but I needed to find a camp spot. I didn't think I had time to finish Hunter Mountain and make the loop back down to Panamint Springs. Next time tho...

    Titus Canyon

Different stages of oxidation (I think) and 20 mule canyon
    [IMG]

All I can say is thank God I had my Icon rears installed. I think I would have cried if I had to ride that washboard rutted track on my stock rear shocks. It was nice being able to speed up to 45mph and have the shocks go to work soaking up the ruts. Wish I could have gotten my OME dakar pack on before the trip but oh well, for the next trip!

Today installed a lightly used OME Dakar leaf pack that I bought from a fellow member. Now it rides like a DREAM!! Before, I think the back felt too soft ever since I installed the Icon 2.0 extended rears. Now, it feels SO much better, not too stiff which surprised me.

Glad you like the setup! It's been awesome for me since I've put it on, such a huge upgrade over stock. You'll like it I'm sure- especially because it isn't too hard on the wallet. I have yet to get new UCAs, you can make it work without them- still got alignment spot on. I got a full 3" in front and leveled in the rear (before the Dakars and Icon rear shocks, now I have a slight rake)

Today had the guys at Superior Brake and Alignment tackle putting on Goodridge +2" extended brake lines to give me more peace of mind when out wheeling with the new rear setup. They did it in under two hours- not bad considering they had to take each bracket off (x4) and grind out the hole to get the connections to fit. Glad I didn't try to tackle this on my own! Read enough horror stories on here to know my DIY skills wouldn't suffice. Mileage 33,7000.

Got me some tool chests for the garage to house all my DIY tools. And a 3 ton jack, jack stands and a creeper set from Sears. Time to do some maintenance on the truck! Up to do: front, t-case, and rear diff fluid changes, rotate tires, grease zerks and change spark plugs. Got my work cut out for me!

Yah! They were awesome. I walked home from the shop- took me almost two hours and when I walked in the front door Bob called and said it was done. Good guys, good work. Do they do alignment on lifted 4x4s?
