I don't think it would make any difference since you lifting from the frame and not the cab. The cab is on rubber mounts. Unless you mean so you don't hit the doors with the hi lift, cause that would make more sense

Yea.. I was referring to any possible "slip"of the jack and the bar putting a nice crease in your door...

How did the PC hold up to the high-lift contact???

 

Or smashing a window.... It actually slipped twice. Once tapped his door, but bounced off with no mark, the second time my hand was between the door and the Jack...
We had a rag between the Jack and the sliders, so was fine.

 

Good friend to give your hand as the sacrificial lamb... were you guys using a jack attachment like the jackjaw or anything? ?

 

I have a couple nice deep marks from my high lift when it slipped. I will always open my doors from that moment on.

I've never had any problem with my jack slipping....operator error?

 

Next time I can just throw a shop blanket down the side. Saw some Jaw Jack knock-offs as Mike mentioned the Jaw Jack is junk and starts to warp after a few uses...but yeah...kinda scary hoping:

1. Slider doesn't slide off the lift arm
2. Hi-Lift doesn't slam against the door
3. Hi-Lift base needs a wide base platform really and the fact that we did it with a narrow base on Ivens smooth concrete made me hurry in the tire swap....lol

Minimize the time in the air with the wheels off for sure. I kept having visions of the truck collapsing on to the axles...

Also, I wrecked my truck in June. So I have a single right side headlight that has been retrofitted with HID lights. I'm looking to sell it and the cables. So all you would have to do it setup the left side. Make me an offer?

I was thinking a piece of rubber under the hi lift for a non slip pad. I think I still have my old neoprene rubber mudflaps laying around.
