    You can always throw a used Fuji X100s in your bag as a second body. It weighs less than a pound and is 5"x3"x2" including its attached lens so it takes up almost no space/weight. Might be worth a transition to see if you like it. If you hate it, sell it for what you payed, mayble lose a few bucks, call it a rental.

    Not a bad idea. I really just need to shoot with one first...

    What would you pay for a used x100s? Did a bit of looking and found stuff all over the board.

    Perfect way to approach it :thumbsup:

    I officiated a wedding a couple weeks ago and the second was doing a lot of the shot tracking using a tablet/phone. It was wild just finding everyone for all the "must have" shots. Both B&G have good sized families which makes it harder. Great wedding tho.

    Excited to hear your experience with it Chaz, I'll be in the same boat come December. I learned a lot from the photographer I had at my wedding, she was outstanding. I'll say one thing you should keep at the top of your list. Know the schedule by heart if there is a concrete one. With all the interaction the photographer has with the wedding party they almost become a director of sorts... Unless there is a helper for that which we didn't have. Depends on the wedding. So fun though, I'm really looking forward to shooting one!

    I'll get off the size difference hobby horse after this, but I just want to show how drastic a difference the size/weight really is.

    I carry two bodies, one fixed lens, and four other lenses (2 bodies, 5 lenses) all in a small ThinkTank Retrospective 5 bag, with plenty of extra cards, batteries, cleaning stuff, etc and room to spare. I'll be adding one more lens soon (56mm f/1.2) and I'm done.

    I added up the weights of my cameras and lenses, check it out.

    X-T1 = 0.86 lbs
    X100s = 0.98 lbs
    14mm = 0.52 lbs
    18mm = 0.26 lbs
    27mm = 0.17 lbs
    35mm = 0.41 lbs

    TOTAL = 3.2 lbs, to carry two bodies and five lenses (one being fixed).

    My kit is around 5 lbs total and fits in a very small bag. I miss a DSLR once in a looooong while, but for me, personally, this is the way to go.

    Technology is always changing, always innovating. This is the next step for most enthusiasts and a lot of pros. Same quality and features in a smaller package with some new goodies too. I hear y'all who don't like them, but it's personal preference and best tool for the job ha Okay I'm off my soap box.

    I haven't been shooting DSLR long enough to feel oldschool about it haha. I'm open to the idea and welcome mirror-less if it's the better option for me! It's a tough one since it's very subjective.

    I am definitely an amateur photographer, but I think these turned out pretty rad:

    Nice shots, Landon! Well composed.

    What camera are you shooting with? I noticed each of these is just slightly overexposed. You can bump the Exposure Compensation a little on most cameras to counter that. You can also take care of it in any editing software like LightRoom.

    Definitely not necessary though. Shots look great as is. Just minor things ha

    Thanks for the feedback! The top one fishing was taken with a GoPro which is always hard to get exposure right for me and the bottom two are taken with an iPhone 5s.

    I have a Canon T5i I take a lot of pics with, but don't bring it with me biking or fishing usually.

    Yes. I did it a long time ago as a joke. But now that I've done a few weddings, it's less of a joke. And my last gig got me a gig for next year ;)

    300mm f/2.8. 100% crop. He was pretty high up and probably covering the 49'ers game at Levi Stadium. Oh. IR converted Rebel Xt.

    IR conversion intrigues me. I don't know that I could ever do it to a camera, but I wouldn't mind borrowing one for a while.

    There are a couple of guys who do it. Needless to say, once done, you're not making anymore regular pics :D

    The guy who did mine was maxmax.com. LifePixel.com also does mods. If I were to do it again, I'd probably modify a P&S instead of a dSLR body.

    There are a few ways to process the results too. Because of my conversion, I convert to B&W. The other thing is that greens and whites (trees and big white fluffy clouds) tend to look best at noon and in IR.

    I'd want to shoot one Marc. But I think the focus thing would be a deal breaker for me. But that's cause I know I shoot a lot of things that have fast movement.

    Really like the low light stuff of the a7s though. Would be cool to have it as a second body.

    The lenses too are a major turn off.

    I'm considering getting rid of my Flipside 400 bag and moving up to a Flipside 500. The 400 doesn't carry my tripod very well cause it's not tall enough (My camera is at eye level on it w/o the center column raised). I also carry my macbook in my backpack when going out of town along with 2 hard drives for backup. Then there are two flashes and 4 lenses (5th is in another bag), remotes and flash accessories along with filters and cords. Hell, my camera, lens (70-200 2.8 stays on it in the bag), and battery pack weight more than your whole kit bag.

    I've been shooting for 30 years now so I know old school. I grew up developing my own film and pictures in the darkroom (color and B&W).

    My next camera with be a big old huge FF Nikon. I'm seriously considering the D800 or D810. Maybe a D750 but we all know how I feel about that one so it's way back on the list. I'd have to have some time with one to make a decision on it. I've also considered a D700 but I think I really want to go for that rich detail and color in the 800 series.

    Isn't everyone?
