This is my first post here on Tacoma World, and I want to say hello to everyone . I bought my tacoma a few months back and have read nearly all of the big threads on the forum to include every page of this thread, and most of the build treads (Blackdog, you're famous lol). I was a member on Yotatech before because I had a 1994 Toyota pickup that was tastfully built but it was time to move up in the Toyota community.

@Strokethrush, I agree. I dont think that that mod will hurt a thing. There are no testimonies that I have read proving otherwise. That is a very popular mod for early Pickups (pre-tacomas). It is actually included in a kit on WABFAB.com and other pre-tacoma sites. It is safer than an AAL (for your leafs) but not as good as new packs. It also allows highter towing and lift. I actually plan to do the mod myself but am waiting until I get a few things taken care of first. What is your spring rate, diameter and length? (I won't be criticizing you, and am suprised that so many did as I have a lot of respect for some of these members)

Remember everyone, it's just my opinion, so please dont burn this new member alive lol

I never ordered from him. I never lifted, I just cut. There are no rocks for hours of where I live so, I never needed armor, or any of the other stuff he sells. Just the first supplier to come to mind. Love your lights man.

Thanks for the compliment and welcome! Happy 3AM.. I work overnight at a hospital so I have had the pleasure of reading almost everyone's build thread (Incuding every page of yours) and the big threads like this one. Thanks to people like you, and the other multi-posters, I figured I would fit in here. Great environment ya know?

Any huh, now that I have that stalker vibe out there, thanks again for the welcome lol :D

haha :p no worries man. :D Im amazed at all the reading you have done. Impressive. Especially cause i know how much absolute BS there is in every thread on here haha

This is a great site. I have really come to enjoy it a ton. Has helped me a lot and there are lots of good people here.

And yea, i am usually not quiet up this late. Just finishing up the last bit of a trip report though. Then off to bed for me!

When I was new at Yotatech, I was hazed for asking questions, and giving my opinion. I have since learned it is best to be very knowledgable of every subject that I intend to ask about or comment on. SO, I read a lot lol. I knew every square inch of my 1994 pickup, from the thrush washers to the wiring schematics for the fuel system, and I intend to know the same about truck before long lol

Oh and the BS is almost as good as the information here lol. Although I cant promise I will retain all of the BS like I will the technical information lol. You guys are great, and I look forward to being part of the forum!:goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

Yea when i was build a supra they were like that too. You will still find it here plenty, but for the most part, its not a big problem like most forums thankfully.

But really, knowing a good basis of info before asking a question is always cool and help anyways.

And trust me...it won't take long to know it haha

BS is always fun :D haha

Yea I've read it here some, but is is mostly in good humor lol. Like you and the blljoint, and rollover stuff that people give you crap about. I think some people here are just a little flat minded, and straight forward. So other (slightly more sensitive) members tend to jump to the concusion that they are dicks, when in reallity they are trying to help. They just have a crappy bedside manner lol. Then of course... there are a few dicks haha. no names. no names lol

Sold my Rock Stars/tires, bought some FJ alloys and painted them black, unfortunately had to buy spacers to get them to fit, bought new BFG A/T's, after a year of having them finally installed my bilstein/toytec coils and struts. Just need to get some longer shackles for mm the rear and a front end alignment, then ill be back on the road again.

I left my truck in the driveway. She didn't want to start. :(

Starting started acting up a couple of months ago, but she always started.

Just order my rebuild kit, will get to have fun doing this tonight after my second job.

Anything is possible, but yeah, I thinking it the starter. I checked voltage on the battery and it was good. Lights, radio all that stuff was as bright as could be (yes I turned them all off to try and start it at the first sign of trouble). I hooked up the battery tender before I left, so I will be able to double check that when I get home.

~260+ k miles on the factory starter, it's about time to rebuild it.

Now if it is the battery that's a free replacement... Die Hard Gold series FTW!

No other systems. I think I have waited to long too. About six months It started take several tries to start, but then that would go away. It would start normal for a week or two and then I would have another episode of hard starting. I got scared on a trip to Hell's Canyon, need to move the truck and it didn't want to start, a minute late it started right up. I parked it in a good spot to roll down hill and pop the clutch, but I didn't need to, the next morning she fired right up.

This morning was the worse episode... first time she has left me sitting.
