I installed my hid kit in my tacoma over the weekend, the hid bulbs are H4 bulbs as well as the halogen bulbs are too, yet they are slightly longer than the halogen bulbs I took out , after I put them in and drove around I realized there is no more cut- off light goes everywhere and blinds people , any suggestions such as a different bulb .?! If anyone knows the answer please let me know , it would be much appreciated

You used pnp... the only way to do a proper HID setup is with a retrofit.

HID's are not meant for stock headlight housings for this reason. Thank you for realizing you are blinding people and took them out.

    Welcome bud.

Go back to stock, or use some sylvanias.

i use the DDM kit in mine. I've put them in all my cars/trucks and they work great. If you encounter any issues with them you can send them back to DDM and they will replace them for you.

So my only option is to retrofit my headlights in order to use HIDs

What's a cut off? The DDM have a metal shield around the bulb.

Cutoff is where the light output has a sharp line across the top which is noticeable when parked infront a garage you can tell where it is , which is what you want but the HID bulbs throw light everywhere and has no cut off

You could always get LED headlights! They are brighter than stock and road legal. Plus you don't have to retrofit your headlights or pay someone $800-$1500 for custom headlights.

As long as they say DOT approved they are legal. I have driven by plenty of cops with my LED headlights on and they didn't even seem to notice.

Same with my DDM Tuning HID Kit, I'm running 55w 5000k. Cops haven't even taken a second look my way, I'm in MD and the state police here are all over the petty money makers.

Thank you for realizing this and not being a dick and just leaving them in. So many mall crawling wannabe rednecks around here with HIDs in stock housings, really freaking annoying.

Unless the vehicle came with HID's from the factory it's technically illegal, but most cops don't give a poo unless your obviously blinding people. That includes retrofits!

Either I'm not blinding people or they are too used to being blinded by old trucks with their ghetto awful pink/purple HID's..

If people were flashing me, I would gladly look more into paying money for a retrofit, but the cutoff seems to be pretty good with mine.

The only times I have been flashed(I can count them on my one hand) are when I am going uphill and they are in my full beam. Projectors won't help with that.

I was under the impression that pretty much anything DDM was garbage to begin with. Is that not the case? Out of curiosity.
