Good deal on 5100s

So did my order. Which didn't ship. So I called customer service and they're backordered 4-6 weeks.

CarID drop ships from manufacturers, they don't warehouse any inventory per their customer rep. If I was lying I'd have my 5100s now, instead I waited a week for CarID to ship shocks they don't actually have and then had to call them to hear they aren't available until end of November or early December.

I had to cancel my order and call 4 other retailers to find some in stock. I'm not slamming CarID, but this deal isn't what it seems.

 

well shit. wish I woulda knew that before or I would've ordered from somewhere else.

Feel free to call them and see for yourself. If they have them in stock shipping in 3 days then I was lied to by 2 different customer reps, and other members were also.

 

You can cancel order through Live Chat or their 800 number. I got my refund in 4 days.

Headstrong Offroad and Chas of MRT both have them in inventory. I ordered from Headstrong myself. Not sure who is cheaper, I ended up paying $205 OTD.

if you order from headstrong and live in ca you 'll have to pay tax.

 

Just checked headstrong and now they're backordered. This sucks...

 

Chas said he has dozens of sets. I emailed Headstrong to get an update on my order and if for some reason they swore they had them in stock.and don't then I'm going to order from Chas tomorrow. Not playing run around. Hopefully Headstrong comes through.

 

Funny story. I was going to cancel from CARid this afternoon, but I just got a shipping confirmation for both front and rear 5100's. I just don't understand.

 

I have a feeling that there are plenty of these to be had and we are all going off of one guys conversation with a CarID rep.

 

Call CarID then.

Headstrong Offroad confirmed my shipment, I'll have mine tomorrow. I'm not the only one that's been told by CarID that they have none available.

 

If you got shipping info then don't worry about it. I didn't get any shipping info, so that's why I called them. I doubt they're sending you an empty box.

Everybody runs out of inventory though, so if you guys want to not believe anybody who's posted that their is a huge backorder on 5100s, then call CarID and order them on the phone, or call and confirm inventory before you place an internet order.

I certainly have no gain for you guys placing orders there or not placing orders there. I'm just talking about my experience with the CarID order, and what they told me after they took my money and provided no items.

 

When I went on their site, I saw the same thing. I called and they said the front 5100s were on back order.

 

Mine are on their way. These shipped 5 days after they said it would, which lead me to believe they were on back order. To anyone that hasn't ordered yet, I'd just order from headstrong. No confusion

I orderd a set of the rear 5100s last week and got them today. Never got any notice of backorder.

FWIW I didn't get any backorder communication from CarID. So if you've ordered from them and haven't received shipping info in your estimated ship date you should call them. The only way I found out was with a phone call. I SUGGEST doing the same if you expect your 5100s to come before next month.

Bilstein produces in stages, so they make however many of each shock and then onto another When that inventory is gone, they produce it again. So all models see backorder issues on occasion.

Just trying to say that if you haven't gotten a tracking number then you might consider following up with the retailer, whoever you bought from.

 

I ordered my 5100s from carid on Tuesday. Got an email right after that they it would ship on Friday and they didn't. Just checked my order status and now it says they'll today. After checking this thread I don't have high hopes. I don't thing I'll buy from them again.
