Hell if you live in the Midwest these days you may as well term pavement as off road. Pavement has deteriorated horrifically because of last years extreme winter.

 

I hope someone got this......

 

Funny thing is, it was always one of their recommended vehicles to buy. Then they dropped it a few years ago, even though it's the same reliable truck.

 

I agree with CR, the Taco rides outdated. It is noisy with a poor ride and a cheap interior. It is a great workhorse, but a lot of people want their pickup doing double duty as a comfortable daily driver which is where the Tacoma is lacking.

Reliability isn't everything. I wouldn't buy 1970 single cab Chevy if it was flawlessly reliable because it is just very outdated, just like the Taco.

 

This is relative to the individual though. For example, I don't think the taco is uncomfortable.

Think of people who never drove a taco, to them it's as new as the next car.

I'm not a fan of leather seats either. My wife has a 2012 Acura, and in all seriousness I prefer the seats in my truck. I find them to be much more comfortable and both my wife and I love driving my truck on long trips. The only thing that has taken away some of the comfort for me is the duratracs and the front lift I have.

 

Looks like the best of SUV / 4x4 and not off road to me. Half of those are fancy soccer mom wagons.

 

Hey now, soccer mom's have to drive through the grass to get to the soccer field.

I love the noise, I like that it sits up high (could be higher) and its the most comfortable ride ive had (trd seats help...)
