I live in a county that does not have emission testing and had the light on for mine for about a year now since a friend did my exhaust and mounted it to close to evap box mounted under bed and melted it. ( I have since shortened the exhaust to fix the issue) also melted the tank and caused it to crack. Plan on replacing with a fuel cell (cheaper than OEM tank)

But question is how can I remove all evap controls. Without causing a rough running engine.

    I have a v6 4.0L 2005

I don't think you're gonna be able to remove all that stuff and have a smooth running engine. Plus your mpgs will suffer.

Is there aftermarket tuning that could compensate for it?

Why do you want to remove all of it?

I bought a 77 chevy that lacked any evaporative emissions and parked it in my attached garage. Later that day I opened the door to the house and was assaulted by a wave of gas fumes. The truck spent the rest of its life parked out doors.

You will more than likely spend more time and money getting rid of the emissions than just doing it the right way. And when you are done the truck will stink to high heaven.

I'll have to do more research I wasnt sure if anybody did this yet. I was figuring the money to remove it all was less than replacing the tank, charcoal canister, and harness, hoses, ect under the bed

Moondeath is right. You do not want to move the EVAP emissions assembly because it will let the fumes of the fuel you have escape. Similar to if you have a cracked seal on the gas cap. The fumes that have gathered within the tank, and at the filler neck will escape and your fuel mileage will suffer because that fuel (actually the fumes) that were originally sealed within the tank is now escaping into the air.

In short, you WANT the EVAP assemblies as part of your fuel system.
