Let's be honest ...why would ANYONE buy one of these unless they are:

A: well offand have a lot of money to burn/too lazy to research the truck they COULD have if they bought aftermarket parts and did the upgrades themselves....and would have a better performing truck.

B: uneducated about trucks and suspension...and just care about having that NIKE logo on their sweatshirt...and owning THE highest priced...there for MUST BE THE BEST TRUCK...toyota makes.

    Man I'm hammered!

Charles Barker has a Tacoma and tundra pro both in that new orange color and they have been on the lot for 2wks now I pass by them regularly on my way to work.

Simple supply and demand....not a lot of them right now = everyone pays MSRP

Try the Costco Auto program. Should be very close to invoice which is significantly less than MSRP.

so you already have a 2012 TRD sport and you want a pro? Why not just buy the tires and Icon suspension and be done with it? there is not enough of an upgrade to entice me at all. If they had changed the drive train I would have probably been wanting one badly.

If you don't buy it the next person that walks though the door will. That's just the way it is with limited production vehicles. I agree it's stupid to pay sticker (or over) for one but if there is a limited supply people will be willing to do just that.

    35K - 38k?:eek::eek:

Sorry but there is nothing about that truck that is worth 13k more than mine. If you think a factory made off road component is higher quality than after market then you really don't know the auto industry.

Believe it or not, I just committed to one! Call me crazy, but I had to have it.

I don't have any other hobbies, so my truck is pretty much it!

Thanks to everyone and their comments/suggestions.

Pretty much how every toyota dealer works. They really need to fix their dealers.

It was in Virginia. Still a haul, but I will make a roadtrip out of it.

You said it brother. They ARE indeed rare and any dealer who drops the price is nuts. I had to wait quite awhile for it to land and the dealer was given very little info on my specific truck. Eventually they found out it had nav, was inferno and some of the other details but they were as much in the dark as I was. I can only assume that Toyota factory is new at building limited editions, so this was like a beta test. Nonetheless, it's great to see them finally doing these kinds of builds. Can't wait to see what they do with the next gen Taco.

What dealership did you end up going with and how flexible were they on the price to make you decide to do the deal?

Charles Barkley in Virginia Beach. Not very flexible on price, but got more on my trade than others offered. Not a smoking deal, but comparable to everywhere else that I have looked. Plus, the experience was very good. Everything taken care of via email or text. No BS!

    Clazzio seat covers,
They DO communicate well ... they stay on top of things ... my daughter has brought a few vehicles from them ... I put a deposit down on a blue '14 SR5 but went back to Checkered Flag up the Boulevard for my Off Road ... which I drove to Barker to get my deposit back ... I had 3 sales people all over my new ride ... no hassle or bad mouthing for going elsewhere.

Got it today! I have to say that it was the best experience from any dealership! Fast, courteous, all paperwork ready to go, etc. I was in and out in less than an hour!
