I put down a deposit about 2 mos before it arrived. Took forever and dealership wasn't given a lot if info on when it would arrive, etc. The very limited supply (1 per dealership) issue is compounded by the fact that there is a drought of carriers for car transport. Don't know if it is a union issue or just too few drivers for too many jobs. The dealership should be sent a configuration of the one they're getting. I saw a printout about 6 weeks before it landed. This is the central Atlantic region so it may do things differently. The printout didn't give a lot of detail but did give the color-inferno. The anticipation of getting the truck was brutal but I was very happy once it landed. Oh, they were also able to tell me when the truck was in transit. Good luck

Here are some pics...I took the wheel rings off and am having them anodized black and I added TRD decal to back quarter panel. Looks pretty blah without them. Good luck and post pics when it lands.

Great explanation! I currently have a 1st gen Tundra and am getting a TRD Pro as I don't want a huge truck like the new Tundra, and the Taco is pretty close to the size of my Tundra. As to the tow package, other than the benefits of the various coolers and such that come with the full tow package, there is the subject of vehicle weight rating for those of us who are buying the truck through a business....stock tow means your depreciate it the same as an SUV while full tow gets it up in a class that allows standard truck depreciation which is a much better deal than the former. So for me the full tow package is both an equipment decision and a business one.

It is fairly simple to add the tow package with one exception. Basically the tow package is a 6500# rated hitch, a 7 pin hook up, a tranny cooler (very small one) and an engine oil cooler. The only thing that would be lacking is the "trailer sway control" that is part of the programing in the computer stuff. So if you don't need the rated gvw sticker rating you could pretty much add an equal or better tow package on your own. The sway could be handled by an equalizing hitch (needed for full tow rating) with the proper sway set up attached. If you wanted to go stock Toy without the price you might be able to get the hitch, coolers etc from a salvage yard, though most of the aftermarket trans coolers are as good or better than stock.

Yes, these are the factory side steps. Hey were a pleasant surprise because I didn't know what they would look like.

Personal preference and all, but I think it'd look better if you blacked out the radiator. At the very least, the parts on either side where it kinda looks pink-ish.

Picked mine up today! TRD air filter, front skid plate, and tow package were on this one. Yes, it has the factory tow package with oil and trans coolers, larger battery and alternator, and sway control. It also has the homelink/auto dim mirror, and the mirror also has a compass in it!

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Nice truck, but you didn't align the TRD decal on the rear fenders too good.

Who knows why Toyota ships so few TRD Pros with the full tow package. From the factory you get a 6500# rated hitch, 7 pin connector, under dash wiring for a brake controller, engine oil cooler, tranny oil cooler for Auto trans, bigger battery, bigger alternator, and added computer stuff for trailer anti sway...MSRP $650. The port hitch consists of a hitch & a 4 pin plug (about $175 worth of parts) for an MSRP of $550! Lots of dealers add the hitch as it is a big $$$ maker for them.

Tow rating with the full package is 6400# Hitch only is 3500#

Can someone who currenty owns a TRD Pro chime in on fener height (off the ground measued at center of wheel.) Curious is the ride height is any different from the TX Pro.

My truck measures Front 36.75" rear 36.50"
