Hey guys, not truck related but I hope to get some good responds that will help me land some fish!!

I am visiting Oahu this December for a family wedding, I will be staying on the island for about 2 weeks. I have been to hawaii before a few years back visiting some family, only did some boat fishing.

Some back ground, I fish the surf here in NJ and plan on whipping when I get to Hawaii. I will be bring my 11ft rod and some swimmers, poppers, and what ever else I buy when I get there may have to try the mark white lures!

I am a catch and release kind of persons unless the fish will not make it back alive in the water I will gladly eat it for dinner.
Can you boys give me some decent spots to fish from land? North shore? I just want to hook up and have some fun!! I will have a car to travel, also if anyone would like to join and guide me to some fish I would gladly pay you, dinner, beers what ever.

    Thanks!!

hmmm I could name a few, but then id have to kill you. hahaha nah nah, mark white lures lets just say $$$ and ive had better results with lead heads and grubs. ive had a mark white in the water for about 15mins no action, changed to a firecracker curly tail, first cast I got a follow, second cast I had my first papio on the board.

depends when your here, id be willing to show you some of my spots. are you staying in waikiki or somewhere else?

Thanks for the post. I'll b staying around Honolulu and jumping around the island with family and maybe grab a hotel if I feel the need. Last time I stayed In Waikiki that was fun to go out and eat and beach.. Spend the money!

I will b on the island December 3 wedding is that weekend but I Free to fish as much as possible!

Would be greatly appreciated if you could take your time out and fish with me or just point me to the right direction on land.

    Nice retros by the way!

    seriously...

I think the last time I caught a fish was from the Pali reservoir with the catfish farm years ago.

Damn you all. I already had plans in me head that I wanted to make a day trip over to the big island sense I have heard so much about the land fishing there. But I was hoping you locals would post up with some positive feeds on Oahu land fishing.

808 do you whip at night? Or use bait?

    Thanks J

try contact Isaac at Aqua Hunters (http://www.aquahunters.com/). he always goes out on the west side, usually Tracks cause it's easy in/out. when I surf there winter time before work, I see him taking a few guys out. I believe he provides everything, you just show up, but you should call to verify.

Oahu is pretty much fished out IMO, but I grew up on Molokai, so you know how that goes. When I do get my lazy ass out, I usually walk the reefs in Kaneohe Bay & whip. Most of the time I can at least get a barrracuda or small papio, sometimes get lucky & catch a good dinner.

I use to take my kayak out in Lanikai.. Id catch some papio out there.. If you dive in front of flat island in Kailua I usually grab couple takos everytime..
