I gotta get some of these magnets. I did not know a straong pull magnet would screw up a weld. good to know.

Those magnets are ridiculously expensive for the bigger ones. It's nice to be able to turn them on and off though.

These are the smallest ones they make. They're about $30 a piece though. Real nice to be able to switch them on and off.

Chill out broo haha, Im trying to learn too. No sense of humor? Really?

Hey man thanks for everything, I was just trolling about the gay thing man. Your point is good, I know nothing about welding and your an expert at it. Trying to learn from the experts, you even have a shop. I just have a hobby truck that I build on my free times, Im just a guy that likes doing shit by him self instead of paying other people to do it.

OK haha, never said I was using that .060 for a cage or bumper lol. Just posted it up if someone found it useful. Just bought a new long travel kit so no need to build it myself ;)

    Any Bendtech users?

I hate to drop that much on a program..but, I know it's going to save me money in the long run.

Maybe I'll postpone my electric/ hydro conversion..

I would imagine it would be vertical up with a backing bar, some what similar to a AWS bend test if not exactly like it.

BendTech is cheap compared to the alternatives. I use mine all the time but even if I had only used it once it was still worth it

    Yeah, I know..

Not that I can't do it old school, I just think there's a better use of my time.

Going to check it out right now.

Kind of sucks, going to have to resurrect my old PC to run it. But, should pay for it with the job that I've got sitting in my driveway at the moment..

Yes it will to have everything perfect every time you go to make a part pays for it right there.

    Example
I just got a email for a 6 bend part that would of taken at least 2 hours to draw out and test bend with who knows how many fucked up parts in the scrap bin.
I had it drawn in less then 2min in bendtech and quoted the job. Just to be able to send a quote back to the customer that fast is worth it to me.

Yep stepping into the world of CAD you need some power! I built my computer with a I7 processor 16gigs of ram and a 2 gig video card it does well for 3D cad. Bendtech pros 3d viewer will freeze your computer if you dont have at least the recommended set up.

All of my old jobs used to give me the shittiest computer for modeling. They never understood the inconvenience. Crashing at least a few times a day got irritating real fast, but I learned to save often. Now I have a bomb ass desktop hooked up to a 50" tv for modeling, or use my 17" MBP.

It's totally job dependent; but what modeling platform do you most often use? I like the Custom 3D Part and Sketch 2D

Yeah it really depends on the part but I do tend to use the templates when I can. If there is any rotation I use the custom 3D.

About 45 minutes of messing around in the Assembly module..

Hoping that I got the calibration correct for my bender.

    Awesome freakin' software!
