900 is for a mid sized SLR, 1000 would be for a full size SLR like a canno 5d. Prices are way different (S9 is prob $1400, S1K is prob 4k for the frame), but when you add everything up (flight controller, down link, FPV, dual radios, gimbal) the prices aren't that far apart.

The DJI website is saying there's only a $500 difference between the two outfitted with A2 controllers. Should end up costing close to $4k still, huh?

I'm guessing that Steadidrone is better.... $13k for a copter is sick!

Dude who's flying his little DJI for us just made back the price of all his equipment in the last month with only a GoPro attached. (Not to get into a discussion about filming w/ copters...;))

The steadi-drone is a good copter but I think it's made more to suit birds-eye-view photos since if you want to take a landscape photo the legs would be in the way.

Indeed... but if a GP3 works for whatever vids you guys are needing I wouldn't get anything else really... certainly no need to carry a red epic unless you're doing real cinematography.

It's OK... their new one "Maverik" is pretty nice... gimbal slews up as well and can carry a nex series camera. I'd buy this one if I was looking for a better video platform.

I can't click on the link, is it for sale yet? I looked at it a few weeks ago and it wasn't 'released' yet I guess you could say.

Just looked it up, way cheaper than I thought .. and it comes with everything RTF.. and can hold a mid size DSLR. That should be a hot commodity quick.

Well, it's a tv show for Dick Wolf. You may be surprised what the heavy hitters pass off when it comes to footage. lol It honestly looks sick, though. That Maverik is cool. I'd ultimately want to fly with an A7 or Black Magic. What's with the opposing, stacked blades? That make it more stable?

Gives it way more lifting powah at the cost of battery life. Also there are better cameras than an A7

I've been off and on with the idea of getting more into this hobby. I bought a cheap little guy at Fry's once and had a ton of fun playing around with it until I broke one the of the arms. I think it was such an offbrand cheap-o thing I don't even know if they sell those parts for it.

Also sub'd for later reading, Finished reading everything, phew so much reading done at work LOL

Less than 15 mins of flying time? All the weight on the front seems awkward here, but that battery probably evens things out.

Moving the battery back or forwards even 1/2" will change the balance.
I use their batteries and mainly order from that site, but if I was going to spend that kind of money I would get a TBS discovery pro

Also I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, the seller is a good guy on RCG and I had to tinker with the camera mount to get the camera to fit, also one ESC was DOA but a quick PM and he sent me a new one. You still need an RX/TX, FC, batteries, and an output source for your FPV like a screen or goggles with an RX attached that matches the FPV TX.

    http://multirotormania.com/bundles/205-fpv-quadcopter-complete-wfpv-bundle.html

If you aren't sure you want to get in the hobby this is where I would start. Under $500 and you can have a complete setup and can do it all yourself.
