Is a 1.5 inch block big enough for axle wrap problems on a non offroad DD?

You need a shim not a block. Shims correct the angle of the driveline and will help with wrap. A blocks just going to lift the rear it won't solve anything, and most likely will make it worse.

    Shim:

So block = no good. Block + shim = okay.

Am I pickin' up what you're puttin' down?

Wait. What exactly is the question?

You're currently having axle wrap problems?

Or you want to add a block and you hope not to introduce any axle wrap problems?

No wrap issues. A local member has a 1.5" block sitting in his garage from the old lift his truck had when he purchased it.

Just toying with the idea since my 5100s come in today on the brown truck of sticking it on the rear and setting 5100 to 1.75, or keeping it stock 3 leaf in rear and setting at .85

Adding a block adds leverage. The more leverage you enable, the more likely you are to induce axle wrap.

Only considering the idea of the block because of the 5100s, also. An AAL or new pack would be lift but I don't haul everyday so it'd be worsening my ride quality which I want to avoid. The block would maintain the ride quality I have now or just make it slightly worse as far as I know. Vibes would kill me though, had them for 4 days and driving was not enjoyable at all. Don't want vibes, axle wrap, crappy ride.

I'll just stick with the stock rear height then. Last thing I want to do is make changes I don't NEED to make and end up in a rabbit hole of issues and chasing down corrections.

I assumed they were specific. Let me toss the idea around. Thanks for the offer.

Doesn't really matter at that point. The centering pin is the same diameter and the leafs are the same width. May give a little more or less lift depending on if it was for a first gen or second, but they are just leaf springs. Only time it matters is when you are doing full replacement packs.

Thanks for clarifying. Lifting isn't my area of vast knowledge and hands on experience.
