One way is to go to http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/home
and create an account with your VIN. All of the applicable recalls, etc will be listed. Or just call the local service department and ask them. Ohio is definitely included, I just don't know when.

My Tacoma is currently at Woburn Toyota (MA) and I'm driving a loaner Highlander. They explained everything to me and took a quick look at my frame. They said it doesn't look too bad, but they won't know for sure until they get the frame all cleaned up. They apologized that it will take them 48 hours as they also have to remove the bed to properly clean the frame. They did say that if the frame needs replacement it could be about 3 months until they would be able to do the work. I didn't go into too much with the service tech, but when I talk to them next i will be asking them all the hard questions about the next steps.

I will keep you all posted.

Thanks for that heads up, but Auburn is quite a bit out of my way. I work in Boston and Woburn is right between home and work, but if I have any concerns or issues, I will consider them. Herb Chambers has a pretty good reputation around here so I'm not surprised to hear you say that.

Yep, I'm just east of Toledo. My truck has been at the dealer for about 3 weeks now. They said they are getting one new frame every two weeks, and it takes about a week to put it in. I'm third on the list currently so I expect at minimum another 3 weeks of waiting.

my '07 has been parked at IRA Danvers for 4 weeks. Still waiting on the frames to be delivered. They estimated 4-6 weeks so I'm hoping to have it back by mid-November. In the meantime, I'm racking up the miles in their '14 Camry. Its been nice getting 30 mpg and not wearing out my brand new tires, but I want my truck back.

Can you request a diff vehicle? I'd like a 3rd row, maybe highlander?

not sure. I was happy to get the Camry as a result of them being all out of Corollas. If being without your truck for 4-6 weeks is a problem, they will let you keep your truck until all the parts have arrived. A friend of mine did this by signing a liability waiver. Although I suppose it may depend on the severity of the rust.
By the way, I called IRA today just to check in. They have received all parts necessary for the work, except the frame. I was told they are on schedule to have it done in 2-3 weeks which is roughly what I was told 4 weeks ago.

Mine has been at Bernardis in Framingham for 5 weeks.. told me 8-10 weeks and they said they won't know when the frame will be in until it shows up. Bombing around in the rav4 they gave me has been cool but I am ready for my truck back

Wonder why such the difference in times to get frames in?

I suspect neither dealership knows WTF is going on and both are just throwing time estimates out there. I'm not betting any money on the mid-november 4-6 week estimate...just being hopeful. As long as I have my truck back before snowfall, I'm ok.

I agree. I would imaging that they have to order the frame, probably through a special ordering system due to it being a warranty replacement. Once they order they can only wait as well until it arrives.

I wonder how many vehicles this affects?

My loaner Highlander gets turned back in tomorrow. Mine only needed the frame cleaned and undercoating applied. I will take some pictures tomorrow of what the after looks like. Didn't think to take any before pics, but they told me when I brought it in that my frame looked really good compared to most.

It took Woburn Toyota 4 days to do the cleaning, inspection and undercoating.

my biggest fear is all of the POST frame replacement issues that can occur (squeaks, rattles, things that should have been connected that werent etc.)

Got my truck back at 9am. The undercoating is still very wet. They also installed plugs in the frame to prevent moisture & salt etc from getting inside the frame. I think that was mentioned earlier in another post. I took some pics, but I'm not sure if they are worth pasting. We've all seen what undercoating sprayed on a frame looks like. I am going to take a lot of pics though so down the road if it doesn't hold up, I have some proof of what was done.

I agree - but I'd be more concerned with the frame.

One replaced, the vehicle is good for many more years and an immediate increase in value. And you could always sell it for more than it's worth before - hopefully you will not get to that point though ...

I'd do this - and others can add/change to this list and be able to help new members (as there is a LOT to read through on this issue.)

Once you know the frame will be replaced.....

    - Get any costs or agreements and issues resolved BEFORE you drop off the truck.

    - Others here claim the Service campaign will replace everything needed for the swap - except non consumables ( brake, tires, etc.) Get a list from the dealer and check it. You need to know exactly what you will pay for BEFORE you Drop off the Truck.

    - Get the service manager to Circle /walk /check the Vehicle for damage/scratches etc., In side and out! - In writing.

    - Take the SM for a ride - and/or let him drive it - doc all issues /squeaks, steering, brakes, clunks, squeaks, etc. Anything NEW found after they swap the frame they need to fix and they also agree.

    - Get in writing anything they say cannot be fixed or corrected by them after the swap. i.e. Drivetrain vibs, other vibs, Steering play, etc. (basically any of the issues that you see in these threads that are a bitch to fix or considered un fixable.

    - Insure if a temp vehicle is available to you at no or what cost - and what type of vehicle it will be??

    - Find a copy of the SC and the list of affected parts (links are here in TW) and print them out - and review them before you drop off your truck.

I'm NOT saying the Dealer will or can fix everything else wrong with the truck - but you should be in agreement anything that exists and do not currently exist when you drop it off and the condition you expect to have it returned......

Other Check list items/ changes/ links to include ?? ???

Just got my truck back yesterday, it is as tight as when new, drives like new. Looks like they did a great job. Don't worry.

Anyone know what the revision on 08.20.2014 was to LSC 173? Just checked my vin and the Canadian website, and REVISED 08.20.2014 is appended to the message.

Also found THIS For us Canadians, if someone was interested.
