Not angry in the least bit. I just think you wasted a ton of $$$ for little reason. But hey, it's your $$$ to but burn. Again, congrats on your purchase. I do wish it's what you hoped it would be.

Pretty sure (that would 952% sure) that if any Toyota dealer treated me the way they treated you, I write Toyota corporate a letter and enclose a picture of me in my new GMC Sierra (my favorite full size truck).

Just wanted to comment on this. The TRD Pro is not as overpriced as everyone is making it out to be. The V6 4x4 TRD offroad is 33,625 MSRP, TRD PRO is 38,300. That's a difference of $4675

That's just barley enough to buy wheels/tires/icon suspension (no TRD exhaust and fancy orange paint). Maybe add another $1k in savings you'll likely get from negotiations for the non-pro model.

The bottom line price is pretty comparable if you ask me. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm comparing the 2 models for my near future purchase.

Nothing to say here, other than driving home yesterday from work, my local dealer had a Inferno DC, Pro sitting on their lot next to 4-5 other DC Tacoma's. I don't know why, but seeing pics on the internet and this and that, it looks kind of Meh.

In person, that Inferno color, on the DC is absolutely stunning (That's the only way to get this truck IMO) there are plenty of other opportunities to own a white or black middle of the road truck. This truck is special and deserves it's own special color. Props and congrats to all the lucky peeps in here that have pulled the trigger, haters be damned.

I don't know, to me it's special. That inferno color is pretty nice, that's special because it's only avail on a Pro. Prob would have got an Inferno TRD/OR if I could.

I'm frankly not into modifying cars & trucks anymore at 36 years old, I spend money on my wife & kids, so the fact this rig comes with tasteful mods from the factory, that's pretty special.

The fact there is practically a waiting list, and members paying MSRP to buy one, that makes it also pretty stinkin special.

People think Ferraris & Lambo's are special, to me they are just cars, but in certain circles they are something to those individuals. The other day a housewife was bragging to me about her $100k kitchen, Wolf commercial range, Sub Zero fridge etc... She thought it was special, me not so much.

Point is just because the Pro isn't special to you, no need to keep hating on those who think it is or are buying or own one. Sure there's always those guys that say, you can build a base out just like a Pro and save a whole bunch of cash. Yes you could, but this is more of a collectors piece. One could keep a Pro all stock, hold it for 20 years and it will probably be worth more than new.

Lol what. Not everyone is in to customized vehicles, why do you not get that.

I'm that guy that would drive a bone stock '81 Toyota Hilux, just for the nostalgia of it. Just like when seeing an old guy drive buy in a minty, 100% stock looking FJ or 1st gen 4Runner.

I like stock looking vintage domestic iron too, like a minty and stock C10, single cab, long bed etc...

Dude I've modded more Honda's & Toyota trucks, even a 3rd gen Camaro at one point in my younger life than I can almost count (And today, I wish I had all the cash back I wasted on those things). I am happier to give or spend the money on family in need, a family vacation, investment property or more growth stock mutal funds than to waste it on a depreciating asset like my Tacoma.

I don't care if my truck looks mad tight to adolescent kids at a stoplight, or impresses other "dudes". I'm happily married so I don't need a bad ass lift, or 35" mud tires, (although I respect and appreciate other trucks that have them) to impress chicks at stop lights and shopping centers.

Not only that but I find wheeling my Quad or riding my dirtbikes on a trail or off-road way more entertaining than going 5 mph over various terrain with a 5,000 lb pickup I use daily.

Now a dedicated machine for wheelin, that's a different story. I'm not going to tear up the truck I use daily, I'm also not tearing up a $35K truck, or $38-$40K in the case of the TRD-Pro. But I'm not shallow enough to think there aren't others who are interested doing that with theirs.

I'm not buying one, I thought $35K was too much for my TRD. I simply stated I LIKE THE TRD PRO, and I think it would be a future classic. Nothing more nothing less. But If I bought one, It's not something I would modify.

Well there are like four running threads about buying TRD Pro's, so why not turn one into a BS thread.

Silly, why buy a Pro? Such a waste of money. Everybody who is anybody on this forum knows that you could pick up a ragged out or wrecked 2nd gen. Then throw Icon kit, 35" duratracs, ARB front and back, a RTT, engine swap, and 5 LED light bars pointing every direction so you can see your way around the 8ft. wide cleared trail to the 30x30' cleared camp site, park next to your buddy's civic, and light up a one mile radius, and still be under the cost of the Pro. Dang newbs.

OP, nice truck. Didn't think I'd like the color, but seeing that pic has changed my mind. I like the fact that it's not covered with a full bedside decal too.

Why buy the factory performance versions of any make or brand? You can always buy the pleabian version and just build the ultimate version yourself right?

Because not everyone has the ideal garage space or tools to perform lift kit, suspension or engine upgrades. I like the idea of buying something already done for the most part.

A lifted truck, with plate bumpers, snorkels, cut out fenders etc... While are cool, outside of TW there is a very narrow audience for that look and "extreme" capability.

Seeing that 90% of the 2nd gens that I see in my area are 100% stock, aside from perhaps a topper, cap or Tonneau, and some steps, that tells me in the re-sale market most people would rather have a stock truck to begain with. Even if they plan to mod later.

That said a Pro in 100% stock form, aside from possibly tires. Will command much more re-sale value when the time comes to get out of it, and move on to something else.

Something else to think of, when you add all the similar modifications on a Pro to say a base, or SR5, you don't get that money back when you re-sale it, unless you patiently and painstakingly wait for someone who values the modifications you have invested as much as you do (good luck with that).

When you sell a special edition or factory performance version of a given make, the upgrades arn't deducted from the value of the rig, like when you add them aftermarket.
