Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Did they finally change the design on those or is that just a different sidewall you could order separately? My 04 has these but the sidewalls look nothing like that at all.

I have been running E rated Duratrac 265/75x16 for 55,000 miles and no problems, i go 80% on the highway, 20% off in placed like the Nevada desert, eastern Sierras and the Mojave. I want the extra strength, side wall protection and have not had a flat yet.

My next set which will be picking up in two weeks for my next 200 mile off road run will be E rated KO2's

Think mine are the KO's, is this the KO2 he posted? I like the looks of them better than mine.

Love the tires. I just got the mud and snow. 2nd set. Last one's weren't the mud and snow so looking forward to this winter.

Yeah they are heavy for the truck but since I work out of my house it doesn't matter much and I love the way they look.

I had a typo in the OP so I edited it. They are the LT265/75/R16. They are E rated and 10 ply (thanks spec sheet). I didn't know anything about that when I bought them. I knew I wanted a larger tire than OEM but not so large I needed a lift or that would scrub on anything. These fit the bill. True they may be overkill, but how can people who all have lifted trucks for the most part, dig on me for overkill in tires?

They are heavier. 53.3 lbs vs the OE 38.1 lbs per tire. A 15 lb difference per wheel and a 60 lb differential for the whole truck isn't bad for unsprung weight. Especially when you consider the increase in diameter and subsequent decrease in revs/mile. I have road-side assistance so I just ditch the spare and make up the weight difference (daily, not when off road. I bought and mounted 5).

Yeah, I just got these put on my '12 Dblcab OR edition, 265/75/16 KO2. They honestly don't ride bad. They may be overkill by the spec rating but keep them aired down to 30-32 PSI and they're good to go.

My understanding is the new KO2's are not only tougher, but will wear better and won't chunk on gravel like the original KO's did. They also have some type of special tread inside the lugs to help keep rocks out.

Time will tell as more people pick them up and put some miles on them. Don't knock them until you try them.

Lots of posts about a 255 tire. I read up some on it and I must say that's pretty interesting. A narrower tire actually increases grip. I wonder how far you can take that. I see in the second phase of the KO2 rollout there is a 235 width. Would that be too skinny to fall into the same premise? I imagine reducing the footprint via reduced width would also increase gas mileage (less friction). I think the size is 235/85/R16.

What's the difference in design on the two? I didn't know you could buy KO's without the snow flake symbol?

Are those going to give us similar clearances to our 275 70 17s?

I'm excited for a 35x17 ko2.. They seem like a perfect tire for all around like the KO was, only more aggressive style.

    Congrats OP!!

HOLLY HELL!!! 53.3 lbs per tire..... problem is, its not just unsprung weight, its rotational weight which effects mpg's, acceleration and deceleration MUCH more than the same amount of static weight.

OP unless you are doing some hard core off roading, you should of waited till they release a P or Load range C rated KO2 in your size. Ill bet your going to be 2mpg down across the board.

If someone runs them without clearance issues I'd buy a set.

    nope.

Getting a set of Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 in the same size as the op 265/75R16 that are all of 1.5lb heavier than the stock rugged fails going to be mounted this saturday. I didnt need an aggressive tire like the KO2, and given the shitty snow and ice performance of the orignal KO id much rather have the hankook.

Alls im saying to the OP is, if you see a drop in MPG's its due to your expensive purchase of tires that are more than likely way overkill for your truck.

20% tint on the front windows. 8-15-13 Installed Icons front and rear with Dakars. 2012 4Runner wheels with 275/70/17 BFG T/A KO2's. Weather Tech mats front and back. Leer shell with Leer Locker and roof racks.
I'm getting the KO2's installed today 275 70 17 I did consider the 34 10.5 17 that OZ-T mentioned but cost jumped about $100 per tire. I currently have the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's and have been happy with them i just wanted a change.

I have a little Hyundai Elantra GT for gas mileage.

I also increased MPG with the TRD Cat Back Exhaust by about 2, increased it again by about 2 by using no ethanol fuel only, and increased it again by about 1ish with the ECU flash. If I lose a bit because I got the tires I wanted, I'm good with that.

AT tires are for increased off road and foul weather performance. We don't get much foul weather here in Raleigh, NC but I do enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping with my vehicle. Overkill for what I do, true. Personal satisfaction, check.
