2005-2015 Safari Snorkel

Well, it looks like ARB and Safari Snorkel have finally made a snorkel for the 2nd Gen Tacoma. There isn't a part number for it just yet, have to wait till next year for that. A little strange that they say that there is now enough interest after the 2nd Gen having been out for a decade now... Whatever, I'm not complaining.

If it just came out I wonder what everyone else were running?

 

They were just using the snorkel meant for a Toyota Hilux. The body lines didn't match up perfectly, but it was very close. They also had to modify how it attached to the air filter box.

 

They only made this because airflow said they were the only company to offer one 'designed for the 2nd gen taco', now they can't.. bragging rights.

 

I'll still probably go with the Airflow...

 

This is great news! Always like the lower profile shape/functionality of the Safari better than Airflow. Now I wait until pre-orders start...

I like the modified Hilux one better. More streamlined and simple. This thing is huge. I thought it was for the F250 when I first saw it. I don't know. I also think it's ridiculous they turned a blind eye to the Tacoma for decade... I'm still butthurt about it.

 

that thing is massive, i would like to get more information on it as it gets closer for release

 

Has anyone running a snorkel actually experienced "improved fuel economy" as stated on the sign there? LOL

Anyone know how high these things stick up over the roof? I'd like to install one of these with a three inch life and 285s, but I'm not sure if it'll still fit in my garage. I've got a 83" I can use.

 

Market competition is a good thing for all us consumers regardless of why they finally are producing a 2nd gen snorkel.

I would be inclined to buy ARB, have been very satisfied with the ARB LC snorkel....until Hodge decided to make me think about airflow....dammit.

 

So are most roadside power lines.

 

Hmmm. I actually like the looks of this over the Airflow one. May have to get one.

 

Why would you still go with Airflow just wondering? is it better in your opinion?
