DC Owners, do you wish you had an AC/RC?

My next truck. You know, so I can fit the kids in the back, my aunt and uncle in the back, my tools and grandma in the back back, and 500lbs of lumber and brick in the bed.

Hmmm. Really I don't want a vehicle to define who I am, do you? I got what I got because it made sense at the time I got it. If we'd had kids I'd have traded my AC for a DC right away. But for my needs the AC is perfect, and I have $15k in upgrades invested in it so I'm "stuck" with it anyway.

What I'm saying is honestly the Tacoma is just a truck, and partly it's success is due to the great number of different configurations it is available in.

Hey, I used to drive a Jeep, an Oldsmobile, a Subaru, a Ford, International, Nissan, Chevy, etc. All were good drives (except for the POS Chevy). They met a need at that point in time. I doubt I'll own another Toyota Truck, mine is in great shape and I plan to get 10 more years out of it. After that who knows???

Sold my access cab to get a double cab, what does that tell ya. Yeah, they look nice, but are useless for hauling anyone bigger than an 8 year old around in the back.

I once had to haul my friends about 230 miles round trip in my access cab and one of them is a 400lb fat kid who got stuck in the back, he was bitching the whole way. I was hauling a recliner in the back, I told him to jump out and go sit on that if he didn't want to shut up lol.

I like my DCLB. I wanted the long box for a variety of reasons (dump runs, hauling snowmobile, etc) and the double cab was a happy accident. I am pretty sure Canada doesn't have an AC with a long box option. .

Times I wish I had an AC are for the break over angle offroad. It just doesn't come up often enough to be a big deal though.

As for the sport vs offroad... I like the colour match and hood scoop on my sport and I've replaced suspension and plan on air lockers... so other than the length I have the best of both worlds.

Edit: I'm single and 25. Pretty much never have people in the back seats. Still don't mind having a DC

 

If I were single and had no kids or pets I would want the AC. But with a wife, toddler, and Labrador We are all comfortable and happy in the DC

 

The DCLB and the AC have the same size bed , there is no AC shortbed
