Fabtech, ProComp 6" lift or more. Pictures

99% sure that is McNeil Racing fiberglass 3" fronts and 4" bedsides, only $860 for all 4 and they offer in house painting at very reasonable rates as well. Take a look at their site, there are 2 red tacos one with just fronts, and one with all 4. I like the look of glass but if you run glass you have to customize your winch bumper and rear bumper to fit them IE: order them custom wider. There is a truck here in SD that has glass all around and had Pelfry custom build his bumpers to match, looks sick.

 

Almost like there's no drop bracket there...

 

Damn. Looking good, I gotta get a skid plate. What do you have to mod to fit it?

 

Luckily with the BDS lift, nothing. I've heard otherwise with the others...I'm sure its possible though

How many of you would be interested in a DB skid? Something to attach to the drop bracket and bumper bar?

 

Only if it can stand up to the Walmart shopping carts & my neighbors trash cans.

 

I plan to paint my fender flares like this soon. They're all beat to Hell from rocks & one stubborn tree limb.

 

I want one to cover my DB support bars behind the cross member. I've been working on a mock up of one and am trying to find a shop that is willing to make one for a REASONABLE price. Did I mention reasonable!?

Just seeing what kind of interest is out there for the ProComp lifts and a skid to go from the DB to the bumper bar. It would be a steel skid strong enough for rocks, not just for show.
I just started discussing the idea with Avid Off road today.

 

Its bullet proof fabrication. Pretty beefy, same thickness as my skid for the diff/drop bracket so it blends nicely. Cant imagine actually hitting it on rocks where I go but, I think it could take some abuse to a degree.

 

It is a super simple skid to build and if you tie the DB's together with a skid you can get rid of the rear support bars...they really don't do sh*t anyway. One problem is that people with after market bumpers will want diff shapes and sizes etc. After market bumpers all hit that front bumper mount differently. I'm glad I waited to start my skid until I got rid of the FF bumper I had because my CBI mounts completely different.

 

Could anybody give me some feedback on this idea?

With my lift, the only shocks I can find with the length I need are really expensive. I have the All Pro U-bolt flip kit with some custom Atlas springs. I was thinking of welding a shock mounting tab to the top of the U-bolt plate, and using the existing top shock mount so that the shock length is much shorter.

Do you guys think that'd work okay? My truck is a mall crawler now, so I'm not concerned with travel numbers.

 

I don't thing welding a tab to a U bolt plate would be structurally sound.

 

How much lift in the rear do you have? You can buy some 5125's and just about any length you can think of and their cheap. Will need an eyelet to stud adapter to run them

 

It is not a bad idea and in fact there is a big benefit because you can cut the ridiculously low hanging OE shock mounts off of the axle and gain more ground clearance. Search Jeep u bolt plates on the web and you will find a ton of u bolt plates with shock mounts on them. A lot of trucks and Jeeps use that set up, see photo for an example.

Hey Folks... I know i'm probably going to get beat up over this...but...what kind of gas mileage are you guys getting with a 6" lift, 35's, and regeared?
I'm trying to decide which way to go as far as a lift and tire combination go, so I'm comparing that to a 3" lift not regeared running 33s.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

 

This is all over the place, many threads and many factors.
I've personally never cared to measure it cause sometimes I use the skinny pedal more than I should be.
