    Oh, right....
That's what I meant to say. Of course....

It's certainly just as important as speling.

    ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist being a dink.
It's my natural state, after all. :D

What are you considering for a shotgun? You can pick up used Mossbergs and Remingtons fairly cheaply most of the time. If you're not picky I've actually heard good things about the H&R Pardner Pumps. Apparently for the price point they're pretty decent guns, but I don't have any personal experience with them so I can neither confirm nor deny. :notsure:
My only H&R is an old single shot Topper 20ga that spent years rattling around behind the seat of several trucks. It's very ugly, but it still functions perfectly and still has a mirror bore.

Now to start customizing that 1911! I like Magpul grips, I also have smaller hands. Then I bought a Smith and Alexander magwell for it. Gotta get all the goodies :D

I was going to try to ninja edit that but was at a stop light and ran out of time haha

Anyways I've been looking at shotguns way out of my price range. Browning, Benelli, Beretta, high end Remington's. Really haven't put too much thought into it because it's not in my budget right now. I kind of robbed my piggy bank for those bikes with no motors last month. Silly me....

I'd be looking for a mix of home defense but still can take hunting/ shoot clays with. Yeah, the pistol grips w/ short barrels look cool but I'm sure they're not as practical. And yes, I also know a shotgun is not the best home defense gun. I'm hoping to never have to use that or my handgun.... In the scouts they always taught us to be prepared though....

For now it'll likely be limited to thinner grips and an extended slide release. Then tritium nite sites. I very much like the ones I've got on my 5906. After that I may think about other custom touches, but I think for now I want to keep it close to original. I'm still really liking those clean lines...

Shit, it never hurts to dream. I've been fondling Kimbers and Les Baer customs at the local gun shops for months, and I ended up buying a used Ruger.

Seriously, though, if you're looking for something flexible for double duty you should look at a Mossberg 500. They're abundant and cheap to find used, they're damn reliable (unless you go by 'Pugga'), you can always buy a pistol grip stock for when you feel like leaving it loaded by the bed, and it only takes a few minutes to swap that out for a standard wooden stock. Similar advantages to changing the choke tubes; screw in one with a nice wide pattern for home defense duty, and swap it for something that shoots tighter groups for when you feel like shooting skeet (or maybe leave the wide pattern in it, if you aren't much of a marksman...). A spare choke tube and pistol grip stock are a lot cheaper than getting a second shotgun, after all.

Great points! I'll start researching them. I remember reading about Pugga's issue. If it arises I remember he fixed it also. At any rate, maybe a larger choke tube will make me look like hot shit to my buds ha! I've shot a bunch of other people's shotguns so I'm not thattttt foreign to them. It's always nice to have friends with more toys than you, then you can save the pennies and have just as much fun.

I couldnt get mad at him. He kind of reminded me of my father, a little old guy. I shook his hand patted him on the back and told him "it was just an accident, they dont call them on purposes"

The issue I had was specific to the 535 from what I could tell. It has to do with being able to cycle the longer, 3-1/2" shells. I don't believe the base 500 has the same issue. I was able to fix it also, just took a few trials with a torch and a bench vice. After going through that though, I'm kicking myself for not saving and buying something better. I have my eyes on a Berretta semi-auto to replace it. Hopefully later this winter :)
You're a better man than me, I would have been furious. Not about the accident but since this guy clearly can't see for shit and knowlingly goes out driving every day, I would have been pissed. Call me a bastard but I'm all for people having to retest for their license. Hell, it might weed out some of the 30 somethings that can't drive for shit also :D

    Mornin, folkses.

It is nice. On the other hand, sometimes it can light a fire under you to try and catch up. When I started 'shooting' a few years ago I had a .22 rifle, a deer rifle, and a shotgun. A buddy of mine showed me his collection and let me shoot some of this stuff, and it occurred to me the other day that now I've got about 20 guns and two safes and my wish list hasn't gotten any smaller. :anonymous:
I could develop a real problem with storage by the time I'm Billy's age...

It's difficult to get angry with the elderly. They're a good reminder of where you're going to be someday, and it guilts you into treating them the way you hope some young buck will treat you when you're old and senile.

Noel, funny the same thing happened to me. I went shooting with someone (who shall remain nameless) and a year later my collection has more than tripled in size and I'm building my own AR's :anonymous:

Haha, the abundance of configurations for AR's is a BIG part of why I haven't bought one yet. I don't want to jump into that pool yet because there's SO many options. Eventually I want at least one in 7.62, 5.56, .300 Blackout, and a 9mm carbine.
I have an M&P 22 currently, but that doesn't count because I refuse to customize it beyond factory spec since it's just a .22 for plinking.

For now my Mini-14 is good enough for something that throws 5.56/223

    I don't recall :lalala:
I don't have much desire to have any others beyond the one I'm building. I'm building a 5.56 and that will be it. I might build a separate upper for a different barrel length but that's about it. I still want an AK but that that will wait. I need to finish my current build and get my new shotgun first.

I don't suppose anybody here knows somebody who's got a Marlin Camp 9 they'd consider selling in the spring??? If I could find one of those I'd likely have no desire for a 9mm AR Carbine.
I've wanted one for a long time, and conveniently enough the magazines from a 5906 work perfectly in them, which would simplify having spare mags:D

The problem is that they haven't made them in a while now, and whenever they show up in the local gun shops or in Uncle Henry's they're crazy expensive (like, "buy a Hi Point carbine, buy a second one for parts, and buy 5 or six spare mags for the same price" expensive)
