I installed a set of WeatherTech side window deflectors following the directions both written and on video. I think my install is correct but I would like conformation on something. While looking at both the driver and passenger windows the front edge of the deflector sticks out and OFF the window sill. I know that the instructions call for the installation to NOT be placed in the window channel but on the outer edge but I never expected it to stick off of the sill. Is this correct? Can someone who has the Weathertech window deflectors possibly post a picture of yours to show me if mine is correct?
I would think they would have formed this to ride the front of the window sill but not stick off of it.
    Thanks

Post a photo, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying but mine do stick out a hair at the sill where they end at the very front of the window.

Need pics. Sounds like you bought non- in channel but want to put them in the channel. If so, it will not work.

I have WT in-channels, I can say to be very careful when deciding which one is left and which one is right. If they aren't marked, you can put them on the wrong side and can barely tell.... I can confirm that from past experience. I would check yours to be sure that is right. You can only tell my the curved shape on the end as compared to the shape of the frame.

I personally have an issue with the out of channel version. They do stick out too far and I do not want that adhesive on my paint.

Mine have looked exactly like that ^ on all my vehicles with them.

I think you got what Lynd said, wrong ones. Out of channel instead of in channel.

Glad I saw this thread. Been considering the exact deflectors but can see from the pics Willie B posted that I would not be totally happy with that bottom edge sticking out...

Same, over 3 years since I got my first set and I've had them on several vehicles since. No issues whatsoever.

At the risk of hijacking, what benefit are you guys expecting to get with these? Window down, less airflow through the cab? Keep the rain out with the window cracked? Or is it just looks?

Not judging, just curious. I had them on a previous vehicle, thinking they help pull smoke out back when I smoked, but they didn't help much.

Keeps rain out with the window down a bit which is important when you live in the rainforest and I like the look of them because they seem to lower the visual line of the cab in my opinion

What are considered the best quality window guards? I live in Oregon and smoke with the window down and rain pours in!!

Inside window channel or outside best?

I use them to be able to leave the windows open some during the summer and not worry about rain getting in.

Inside the channel. I do not like the stick on look at all.

On other trucks I've had both kinds and prefer the stick on. They looked better to me.

I hate the look of them but it lets me roll windows down in summer heat and not worry about rain pouring in while I'm in work. With the windows cracked and sun shade in place it's a huuuuuge difference

If I had to guess, I would think that the flare is there to throw the airflow out away from the cab to create a bubble of airflow around the open window.

I like the look of the AVS Vent Visors better than the Weather Tech's. But, that's just me...

X2 Makes a HUGE difference in the summer sun being able to crack the windows open. It hides the fact that they're open and if a storm pops up, no worries about rain getting in. Mine also look like the pics posted.

The only time I really noticed the flaring out at the bottom was when I put them on. It's basically right in by the mirror, and the deflectors are the same colour as the mirror, so I haven't noticed since I put them on. Just a little extra windnoise is all that is noticable. but by now I'm use to that, and I jsut turn the radio up to cover it.

Another huge benefit I find is being able to crack the window in winter and not have snow fall into the truck because I was too lazy to clear it off before I got in to drive wherever I need to go. (I know it's not really a thing for the southern states, but in Canada and the Northern states it's a nice feature.)

Thanks for the pictures WIllie. That flair is exactly what I was asking about. Glad to see that is normal. I guess I installed mine correctly.
For the record I like them a lot and in my opinion the in-channel are the way to go.
