Did you see my sub $100 Co2 rig? 7 years strong.

Sans paint job and busted regulator gauges, it's GTG.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I have an extra 10lb co2 tank with a regulator I use for homebrewing. What extras do you need for off road use? I assume it's just some adapters and sturdier hose.

Your high pressure gas tubing is just fine, that's what the cylinder above uses. It doesn't like UV exposure but will last quite awhile unless you're sitting in direct sunlight all day. For offroading I'd just keep the regulator or nut and stem shown in my sig link with the tubing and tire inflator off of the cylinder and in the cab or other storage area where it's out of sunlight.

The tubing on that tank is at least 7 years old and has no signs of breaking down, but it doesn't see sunlight. Even if you keep them attached and in UV light exposure and you replace the tubing every year it's less than 50 cents per foot.

Or you can use other tubing, check the link in my sig. That tubing you use already is nylon braid reinforced PVC high pressure gas tubing, its plenty sturdy, as long as you don't bend it at hard angles and weaken the structure repeatedly, even then in my experience you have a co2 flow issue way before you create pin holes, and I've never personally seen that tubing have a complete blow out. Usually the clamps will fail and the tubing will blow off your barbed or non barbed fittings (especially, all fittings should be barbed IMO), UV exposure will cause cracks and degradation of the PVC tubing, but I haven't seen catastrophic failure of that tubing ever.

Just make sure your safety valve is correct and your tank has been hydrotested to prevent a disaster and you're good to go.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I'd probably take the tank off after every wheeling trip and store it in the garage, or house. So this would be a portable one that I could attach to a mount and pull out the hose when I need it. I have a compressor, but this was just an alternate option I was looking at trying.

Yes definitely be cautious storing the cylinder safely. You are spot on.

Parts available any time, if you want the nut and stem and tubing I can probably get that for you. Unless you want a regulator then better to buy at a store.
