Did I see you near 128th and Holly by the Little Caesar's Pizza a week or two ago? I waved, you waved. It was a special moment.;)

lol I'm sure it was me! I try and wave to the slightly modified crowd. I'll admit, Colorado likes to "Stonewall Jackson" the shit out of me on the wave. Georgia was all about it. Glad to know someone got it! Haha

Your Softopper fits better than mine, how close did you put the mounting rails to the cab? I have a gap in between the cab and softopper.

That's odd. Is it possible the frame is on in reverse? Mine follows the line of the cab very well. I followed the instructions as far as spacing.

I installed mine 4 years ago, could be a design change. Maybe it is on backwards, that sounds like something I would do.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Mine has been on about a year or so. I was thinking it could get closer to the cab.

i think they all pretty much look the same..i played with spacing and positioning. Seems like every time i fold it down its a new ball game.( not the frame moving just the velcro positioning etc etc) I love the top just wish they would change the cut or design of the back corners to prevent the holes and exposed aluminum. Just looks kinda junky to me. i tried everything to get it to conform better.

Agreed. The two rear corners are the only thing that bothers me.

Yeah, I wish the corners were tighter. Don't like the loose fit.

Mine are the same way. Would love it if I could figure out a means to smooth out the fabric on the corners. Might not be possible.

I like the way the corners of the bestop work they have a rounded clip on the bottom which when the canvas is stretched and zipped together, rounds out the corners nicely.4a61e33753065a965a79241877bb9138_dad61637f414292da926911473fd77c20e99801d.jpg

yeah with what i said..i drove through sever down pours and snow at 70+mph and the inside was dry as a bone. I would like tighter in the corners more for dust reasons but the tacoma bed is a sive anyway between the tailgate gaps and the holes in the cubbys and bed floor ( i need to plug them all up next spring)

The bestop takes a lot of the cues from jeep soft tops..and it works. My soft top on my JK was pretty bombproof all year. Im suprised softopper has not picked up on this and elimintate the side snaps even. Prob not cost efective to make a jeep tub style mount.

i do know that every single time i walk past my truck in the driveway i unzip the window and snaps and try to " smooth" out the back corners more thinking there is some trick i missed. My Neighbors must think im OCD. The rest of the top is tight like a tiger.

I run my velcro on the top of the tailgate, was way to skeptical of putting it right over the paint.

Looks like it may round out a little better this way.

I have never had any leaking problems.

Can someone tell me the OD of the pipe for the rear door. I bought a used one and that part was missing. Not sure I need it but I figure it'll be good to have.

Looks like 3/4 to me with a tape measure. If I remember tonight or tomorrow I can use a calipers and know exactly but 3/4 should get you there.

This past weekend I cut two end plugs out of 6061 with a 1" radius. When test fitting I was getting cold and annoyed with the wind. When all said and done the radius pieces did firm up the plastic bar insert piece which was very nice. The radius actually made the corners worse by pushing up the fabric over the now round edges. Thankfully the change was not permanent.

Might try to cut the end at a 45 degree for a little better rear seal. It is a lot of work for not much gain when your milling by hand.

If it were physically possible to fornicate with a Tacoma, yours would be the hot girl in high school that I roofied at the prom. Good lord that is a sexy truck.
