Thanks man. My son said he wants to try and survive in our little tent. If our tent fails then we can sleep in the back of the truck.:p

That's what we do anyway.. in the bed... with my shell.... last time I slept under my 10x10 and the wife and kid in the bed..... I'll probably bring the 10x10 anyway for a bit more creature comforts.

    WIll do.

I've only been camping on the big island and just slept under tarps on a cot. This will be a first in a "tent"

I'm pretty low maintance so I packed last night and fit the essentials in my camera bag lol. But I added some extra stuff like a pair of pants and a few blankets in my old school backpack. Going to load up tomorrow night since I work Friday and Saturday :(

Awesome! I'm so happy I won't be the only 2by up there :)

I'm not in on any crazy stuff either. I like flat dirt roads :p Going to map the easy rout up, so I can ditch the rough stuff if needed in the morning.

So does that mean your bringing a camera? Or is that on the big island too??

I was watching your old video again Iven and I think most of the sliding was tire related? Not saying you don't need 4wd in that situation, but I'm hoping having some decent tires will help if the weather takes a turn.

I'm still debating if I should leave the ABS or not. I'm leaning 90% towards no ABS.

What video? The sequoia in the crazy rain? I was sliding around too in that stuff. There were a few times where the ruts saved me cause I couldn't stop. Hopefully it won't rain that hard. Just enough to keep the dust down and make the main road fun :D
And don't worry about mapping the main road. It's pretty obvious.

so being as I live in a condo that recently banned grilling, and I can't carry that much big stuff since I don't have a car....

I'll bring some dessert stuff and misc/paper goods-
    cutlery
    paper towels/napkins
    disinfecting wipes
    trash bags
    tongs
    aluminum foil

    basically, I'll be a maid

If the ruts don't manage to stop you just have the door ajar and your seatbelt off so you can dive out as the truck goes over the cliff...:D
