08 4x4 DCSB, no extra traction toys :( here, mostly because it was on the lot the day I needed to buy something after weeks of searching for as close as I could find to what I wanted.

There has been the odd time or 2 the extra 13.249653 ;) inches would have been great, but it isn't a problem for me on a regular basis.

Short bed here - only because I needed a double cab, and wanted stick shift - you can get this in a long bed.

IMO my '09 Access cab was the perfect size, but I needed more cab room and wanted the options on the Off-road so I got a DCSB. Having a 6ft bed is nice, but I get by just fine with the 5 footer.

Plus... one of the biggest douchebags I have ever met drives a DCLB. ;)

How would I know? Because at one point I owned this '08 Long Bed (Crew) Frontier.

    100_0465_c591e8c0941fa9b81f29512952cf2fd1fc27e27f.jpg

Then longer than that, I had this '13 FX4 Crew Cab with 6' box. Compared to both the Nissan and the Ford, my DCSB Taco feels like a sports car. I don't miss the bed space at all on either truck. I found that with more bed space, I tend to haul a lot more unnecessary crap and weight. With the short bed I generally have everything I need with me, and nothing I don't. So far have not had one instance where I said damn, wish I had my Ford back with a true 6' full sized box.

No thanks, where do I start?

-The oem rear leaf pack bottoms out with 400-500lbs in the box.
-Replaced oem motor mounts twice under warranty
-Carrier bearing shot at just 30k miles
-Worry of premature timing chain guide wear or failure
-Worse gas milage than 1GR in the Taco, I never got better than 15-16 ever.
-Less clearance stock than a 2nd gen Taco
-Non defeateble traction control on non Nimo 4x4's
-Less room in 2nd row, crew cab area than DC Taco
-Just like what has been already said, with a long wheelbase, you would be Suprised how easy it was to get a truck like this high centered.

    Only things I liked..

-More interior storage than a 2nd gen
-Less choppy ride than a 2nd gen
-The box on the Frontier is deeper and slightly larger
-The tie-down system in the Frontier is class leading
-There is almost zero flex or movement at the Frontier frond end
-My '08 came with a factory sliding sunroof (awesome)
-At the time (2007) this truck with 4x4, sunroof, crew was thousands less than a base V6 PreRunner DC. Although when I sold it, I took a bath in it, as you could imagine, the re-sale is no where near as good as a Tacoma (Should have just bought a Tacoma in the first place)

You really notice the bed size difference if you haul any type of construction material. For me the 6 foot bed is almost too short in some situations. Like long 2x4 or 4x4 boards, drywall, plywood. Anything much longer than the truck bed. Especially when you get to the 8 to 10 foot range. That extra foot of bed makes a difference.

Ive had 5 foot beds trying to carry that stuff before. It's just awkward having that much overhang.
