What a crazy story! Glad you are ok!

You're probably extremely lucky that you didn't wake up. I'm sure they had the surprise factor and a system in mind for taking you out.

Were you tied and gagged when you finally woke up?

Which also makes me think that they wouldn't have been quiet when they rushed in? The lights had to be on or they had to use flashlights, unless they knew exactly where to look? Were you passed out? Did they spike your drink? Maybe you should get a blood test?

Throw that deadbolt next time so it won't be so easy for them.

Lucky they were so nice to you. Hopefully you have insurance.

Wow you are lucky you didn't wake up. And this just seems odd, inside job? If not then someone is very ballsy or had more info on the situation.

Would traveler's insurance (if you had it) or the casino have insurance for this sort of thing?

OP - I would recommend posting on local CL to keep an eye out for some unique parts you had on the truck. Just a thought and good luck.

Just a thought / question ... Although he/she stole the keys - how did he/she know which truck? Did they know you or Did you have a remote entry that could flag where you parked???

Unless they know exactly what your truck looks like and where you parked, chances are the guys were wandering up and down parking lots with remote in hand looking/ trying to hear your truck; the cams should be able to capture this.

Techie thieves around here lately be targeting telecom/internet/electrical contractor trucks left and right. Hit like 4 hotels around here.
Not only for the trucks, but all the techie gear inside.
Some of that stuff is worth more than gold and nearly unbuyable for Joe Schmoe. A person can get up to some serious mischief with some of this gear.

Industrial espionage is rampant. Not to butt up against your workplace confidentiality, but they may have thought they were scoring some of your company's gear/secrets/customer info in your briefcase and truck.

This is an inside job all the way on the hotel side.
No hallway vid of the perp near your room? :dubious:

No way in hell things will go on Craigslist, this isn't amateur shit to break into casino hotel rooms and then drive stolen cars from the garage. Thieves are legit, whether or not they have someone at the hotel getting cash for exchange of info like what owner of a vehicle is in what room.

My money is on the truck is no longer a truck and parts are already being sent away to wherever parts go.

SEMA is a magnet for crime in Vegas. Just about everything they steal can be sold for a profit and many items are untraceable (show items often have no serial numbers). The Vegas cops will be totally overwhelmed and you'll be lucky if they can work the case within 30 days. Sadly, the truck will be stripped by then, or over the border.
Vegas is a good town, but it draws thieves like a bright flame. You have to be extra vigilant and always lock your doors. Here are some good tips:
    http://www.kevincoffey.com/hotel/hotel_safety.htm

I do hope you get the truck back intact and the police catch the bad guys.
