Tailgate skin reinforcement and cap in both aluminum and steel powder coated in textured black as well as the locking doors. Almost done the soft top, still working out final details with patterning.

Never! Sheet metal shop got hacked up. I'm hoping to increase lead times with new products. I plan to stock all my products so I can ship next day.

That soft top project is ambitious. I'm definitely impressed. Can't wait to see the finished project.

It really is. There is so much to it as far as seem allowances, where to place velcro for sealing, where to place flaps, how to tie in rolled corners, where to place straps to release strain on stitches. We're visiting a local fabric place today that does this stuff for a living to make sure we're going down the right path and maybe get some pointers.

Stuff takes time. I was looking for ideas to begin and then take off on designs. Why come up with stuff and waste a bunch of time on things no one will want. Design work takes a couple weeks, fabrication a couple weeks, R&D a week, revisions/rework and release the perfect product another couple weeks. You think anyone making bumpers just cut and welded a bunch of steel and got it perfect and ready to mass produce in under a month? Plus, this is a hobby. If it were a job I could do full time it would be a much faster process.

    I agree with this

I understand where you are coming from but "I" personally think you went about it the wrong way. You may or may not have the capability of delivering on your products. They may be great products or they may be sub par. TW members will decide that for you.

My issue has, and will continue to be that you came in here and looked at what everyone else was selling and decided to make a few little tweaks here and there as to not completely copy others designs. That lacks vision in my opinion and is a poor business practice.

I'm all for you doing well and I hope you can deliver what you promise. I'll be surprised but I hope you can. You pretty much knew what others wanted since you copied other peoples designs so why not just make your product then actually show a product instead of a CAD rendering?

I'll get some flack for this post but that's okay. I just think there was a better way of going about doing this.

I can see where you're coming from, and you're not wrong. I am trying to come up with more stuff than just tweaking current designs.

I did tweak some stuff but it was because it was my personal preference in aesthetics. Like the tailgate cap, although KBVoodoo already did this, I just don't like the final break that wraps over and down the back. So I did my own rendition to match the curvature of the tailgate. I figured maybe others agree and would like mine over his. I am doing the same thing with the side caps as well as the the one that goes over the front.

Rock sliders and soft cap are taking time. I want them to be perfect and I want to actually have a picture of the final product on these. A CAD model won't do it any justice.

Also, we are going to offer custom products as in, one off stuff. If someone wants something, that no one offers, we'll do it.

This is taking longer to get going than we expected but we're trying so I appreciate the folks that are supportive and sticking with us.
