Never under value your own time. Seriously, that's an important lesson in life. Or do you work for free?

Can you imagine the MSRP's on those trucks considering what our trucks are worth now? I have always been perplexed why Toyota hasn't done a factory model with the S/C.It seems like a no brainer for those guys who want V8 power in the Taco. The limited really is a strange truck, it's missing so many things that come standard on any high end model. Even the Ford Focus has a better limited package. I've never really understood the desire to have the OR be something like the Rubicon or better. I think that's what the aftermarket is for. With markups I see the OR truck you described up in the 50K region, and a nice limited or the S/C Sport in the low 40's. I bet those will fly off the shelf.

I am sure he would value the time spent with his friends. Or do you have no friends?

Yes, I'm sad and alone. After all if you don't have a trust fund you can't make friends right? :D

Treat your time how you wish. Never say it's "free" though when you spend the afternoon drinking beer with TW buddies rather than with your kid, spouse, or family. Anywho... I'm out boys. Time to find myself a second mortgage so I can be badass enough to get me some Icons!

Interesting....nah. I have a Pro. I like the inferno color. I paid for it. I compared prices.
The Pro is the most capable Tacoma produced by the factory. Oooops I said it. If you want factory capability and support buy the PRO (or a Raptor). Buy what you want.
Dont compare your OR or Baja to the PRO. Enjoy your ride. Each builds on the next.

    Two questions for everyone on both sides;
    1) how much was the PRO compared to the OR or Sport? MSRP not inflated.

    2) how much more did you put into your OR or Sport to make it tougher?

Dont tell me just think about the answer. Then deciede if your jealous, bashing or providing real input.

Toyota does make some really bad ass OR stuff....just can't buy it here! How about a Prado...basically a 4-runner with a straight axle and a turbo diesel....saw one at Toyota Rubithon a couple of years back...sort of a mini 80 series wagon...was way cool...guy shipped it over from Germany to do our event. As it sits now, if you want a Rubicon type rig you need to build it yourself (even the Jeep Rubicons need some work or they eat front axle housings etc). Then again, for Baja, Moab type stuff most taco's work great. Google Hells Gate Taco on Youtube and see a basically stock Tacoma do a pretty nasty trail with ease (OK, it had a Super Charger which didn't help much on the trail but was fun on the road). Toyota Trail Team had this at Cruise Moab and their guys did Hells Gate in it....stock with a hockey puck lift in front and 32" ta's. I got to drive this truck for the first 1/2 of Hell's Revenge and it did great!

    Very well said!

Drove one on Wednesday and actually saw the Inferno color in person for the first time....changes a lot depending on the sun / shade / amount of light, but definitely an awesome color! Enjoy your truck!

    +1

Also, this is my first foray into the tacoma and 4 wheelin'.
The break down on price differences has already been done so we don't need to rehash that.

My main reasons for the pro, other than the aforementioned quote are:

    • I LOVE the looks.
    • it's different than yours
    • Having a decent lift and a decent suspension already installed is a big plus. I am a mod'er by nature, but I don't know the first thing about suspensions and lifts (Coil-overs, springs, UCA, Reservoirs wtf ???) . . but I'll figure it out just like I do all my other hobbies.
Also, I hate the appearance of as many Tacomas as I love. There is no accounting for taste. I do not expect everyone to ogle at my pro as much as I will.

And when it comes to talking money, don't worry about my wallet, I do ok. And if you want to put up a list of the exact items needed to make that base SR5 into a Taco Pro feel free, I'd LOVE to read it.

I wish I'd have the funds or opportunity to buy a white TRD PRO 4Runner. Have my sights set on a trail edition 4Runner, but even those are hard to come by here on this rock in the middle of the ocean.
