do you NEED to adjust gear ratio after tire upgrade?

hey chris, what gears do you think i should get with 315/70/17s? would 4.10s still be good?

 

according to my bf..not on toyota axles, i just listen to him...

We both only got one diff

 

you've got a 4x4 so you have to do both

I'm going to regear to 4.10 as well...down the road that is. Paying the recent insurance deductable knocked my tire fund back down to zero.

 

If u do the rear u need to do the front or you'l grind your gears to powder

 

Where are you all buying gears from?

on a side note, i e-mailed justdifferentials.com and asked what a good ratio would be for 33-34" tires and they reccomended 4.56, along with many over at ttora.

so im confused now.... what would be a good ratio, 4.10 or 4.56?

on my 2001 ranger that I had, The guy had 35's on it with 4.56 gears. But then I went down to 33's a little later. It was fast but it reved higher at highway speeds. I think 4.10 is just right. But Im open still.

 

yea i imagine that it will raise the revs quite a bit top end...... and i dont want the exhaust to be too annoying.

 

What kind of exhaust do you have?

 

yes regearing helps. more power and better gas mileage. and it wont strain ur tranny and engine. go with 4.56 theyre better

 

i have TRD exhaust/intake, DT ongtubes, URD y-pipe.... so its loud
