When I worked for Kmart this summer they only paid me minimum. Never again

Every day I walked in there I was like "my life is not worth $7.25 an hour, this is bullshit"

It scares me how much different the job situation is in Omaha. It seems like anywhere else you have to kill somebody to get a job, here you can quit your job and start a new one tomorrow. That's why everybody pays competitively. I love my job. I could get a job that pays more, but my managers are awesome, my coworkers are great, and I love the work. Loving what you do is half the battle

What he was saying is actually true there are so many open jobs here that it inflates the wages. I haven't found a place yet that pays minimum wage.

 

That's pretty insane actually. Not even gas stations and stuff pay minimum?

 

I've never made less than $10 an hour

 

Made 7.25 from 16-18. Was enough for me at that time though

 

I make 8.00 an hour working at the local grocery store, perfectly fine for all I need

 

At 16, yup.

What sucks is areas where cost of living is higher. But luckily for me I grew up in an area where minimum wage is fair in reason to cost of living at the age of 16.

 

Not really. McDonald's and stuff pays close to minimum but if you have a little bit of motivation and you aren't as dumb as Mason (just kidding ) you can find something better.

 

Lucky, my first job when I worked at a grocery store in Michigan paid 7.40/hr (minimum in Michigan). But the economy was horrible, so if you got offered a job you took it. I only would get like 16 hrs/week because I was still in school lol so it wasn't even enough for me to fill my gas tank

 

Then buy yourself some damn black mirrors!

I've never worked more than 2 40hour weeks in a month. Thats why i don't have good money. The work i do is NEVER steady

 

But how many erm... Minorities are located in Nebraska? Willing to bet that theres nowhere near as many as there are in NC, which is why it's hard to find unskilled jobs and why they all pay $7.25 here

 

Plastidip is only like $5 a can ya know

North Omaha is all black, south Omaha is all Mexican, Bellevue is mostly Military. West Omaha is where most of the white people are, that's the rich side of town. Where Jon lives Lot's of minorities out here, they just don't want to work. Their choice haha. Out here it's not enough people to fill the jobs. As weird as that sounds

Edit: I'm not racist at all by the way, most of the nicest people I've met are from the shady parts of town. It's just the way it is

 

Neither am I haha, but living on a College Campus that is a few miles away from the "shady parts of town" sucks ass
The crime spills over too close for comfort. I fucking hate the city and the bullshit people that live there. I'll make sure I live around people I can trust when I graduate.
