I was being serious. I have a great respect for most Mexican's. No doubt, my outdated opinion was due to my buddys comment about Mexican Ford transmissions. In fact, maybe I would prefer a Tacoma from the Mexican plant! However, I also have a tremendous respect for Texans, so would really prefer an American made Tacoma.

    American assembled.*

Toyota sources parts worldwide. Mine is Texan born, but if I had to go out on a limb I'd bet the Mexico plant is equal to if not better than the Texas plant.

Ford is shit wherever it is made.

    Work ethic? Hmmmm.. :D

The Mexicans around here are very good workers, they are not one bit lazy. I hate to say it, but most blue collar Americans are lazy compared to Mexicans, IMHO. Mexicans will easily 'out work' an American.

I didn't order mine, but surfing on cars.com, I found a dealer that had one inbound and it was exactly the specs I wanted.

Traveling tomorrow from Huntsville, AL to Eastern, PA just to buy it. Thank God for FF Miles and Hotel points. :amen:

I'll do steps, once I add a lift and replace the wheels.

Good for you. What a nice way to break in a new Tacoma. My salesman said that the cost of running boards is more than double if not ordered with the truck. Not sure that's true. I had factory running boards on my 97 T100, but never used them. That may change with my advancing age.

Sounds about right, since my Tacoma was ordered on 7 November and the salesman said it should arrive just before Christmas.

I disagree. There is something to be said for a brand new truck just out of the factory with 3 miles on it as opposed to one that has been test driven, washed, and doesn't have much of that new smell anymore. Another thing I would have them keep leave all of the plastic on the seats and floor board in tact and take it off when it is pretty much useless. Keeps everything new even longer.

I ordered my Blue Ribbon TRD Sport SBDC 4x4, on April 11th. I have to wait because a Sport with JBL and Navigation is really hard to find in Blue. As of today, my dealer says it hasn't even been built yet. It's already been 5 weeks. Does he really know that, or is he guessing. I'm wondering when it is built, how long to ship it to Louisville.

My dealer knew when my truck was scheduled to be built a few weeks before it was built and he was able to track the shipment along the way. I don't know delivery time to that location, but I'd guess about one week, two at the absolute most.

Five weeks is not very long at all, most expect 6-8 weeks for a relatively common configuration. Some have waited much longer for an unusual configuration.
